@Wicked Witch Of The West a basic thing I do for butter cream is butter icing sugar and milk I don’t have measurements with me but basically beat the butter till it’s soft I guess then add icing sugar till it’s the right consistency and add cream to make it better I know that’s really bad instructions but that’s the best I can think of

7:13 Y'all didn't think about it but the cake seems undercooked. If you noticed inside, there is literally several spots who look wet inside the cake. (take a look in the middle of the slice.) I've had this experience when my mom failed one of her cakes.

So to anyone who is trying to get into baking, like Kay Whip the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, so a few minutes with an electric whisk, then add 1 egg at a time. It should look smooth with no lumps. Then sift in your flour, again, it should be a smooth batter. If you want to add milk to your batter, add it a bit at a time, but after all your other ingredients are combined (though personally i stay away from liquid heavy cake recipes). Don't over beat your batter once the flour is added, just mix until it is combined. Also, add vanilla and salt, especially to a plain cake like this, just a pinch of salt though. Grease your tin, like Kay did, but add a bit of baking paper to the bottom of the tin. Bake your cake at a low temperature, too high and it can burn the outside due to the sugar in the recipe, but not cook it through, it can also make it sink. Also, times are more so guidelines as opposed to strict rules, check on your cake before it is done, see how it looks, if it doesn't jiggle, or if a skewer comes out clean. The margin for well baked and dry cake is very small Oh god. I shouldn't be commenting as i watch. Urm, okay. If you want to dye your icing, if you are using a liquid based dye, make the icing mixture with the sugar and water, have the consistency a little bit thicker than what you want, then add a drop of food colouring at a time to get the colour you want, then water it down a little more if needed. A little water goes a long way with icing sugar. And remember, icing sugar is still sugar, if you add too much it is incredibly sweet. Make sure your oven shelves are level before baking, also, make sure your pans are okay, and even tap/smooth the batter out before putting it the oven. For spreading icing, use a rubber spatula, or a spoon Try to cut straight and even slices, and the furthest you should reach is the centre of the cake

Next time luv make enough for 2 cakes, make a cheap butter icing using icing sugar and butter and a little bit of flavouring of your choice, whip it until it's fluffy, then put a layer of the butter icing over the top of one of the cakes and sandwich it together with the other cake and spread the remaining butter icing over the rest of the cake. Top with some sliced fruit to compliment the flavouring (strawberry slices with strawberry flavouring for example) and you have a smashing cake that looks like a professional made it. ^^ Want to make it more fancy? Grate some dark chocolate on the cake surface or melt it and using a spoon drizzle it over the cake surface.

The cake is Good. The icing is Bad. I can fix that Icing. You can use Butter Powdered Sugar. -add butter . Mix until fluffy. - Add powdered Sugar. Adjust the sweetness to your liking. You can add coco powder to Make a chocolate icing. Or If you prefer Watery Icing. Use chocolate and cream. 1cup Chocolate. 1/2 cup cream. Melt chocolate and mix in together with warm Cream. Also for the Food colouring icing You suppose to put 1 -3 drops of food colouring. Hope this help
