Ya, saya pernah mendengar istilah “bule” digunakan. Saya pikir itu lucu (saya tidak tersinggung). I lived in Jogja many months. I liked it a lot.

@@jozhua5 BULE secara harfiah sebetulnya artinya adalah BLONDE dalam bahasa Inggris. Akan tetapi orang kita biasa menyebut BULE untuk foreigner (orang asing) terutama yg datang dari dataran Eropa atau Amerika. Jadi kita memanggil BULE sama sekali tidak ada maksud untuk mengolok-olok warna kulit. Itu semacam common word untuk memanggil turis yang datang ke Indonesia. Salam. 🙏

Saya mengerti. Saya tahu beberapa orang tersinggung dengan kata itu. Tentu kata apa pun bisa dianggap menyinggung atau tidak. Negara/budaya yang berbeda memiliki perspektif yang berbeda. Apa yang tidak menyinggung di satu negara, mungkin di negara lain. Saya sering bepergian di masa lalu dan bos saya akan memberi kami informasi tentang negara yang akan kami tuju sehingga kami (mudah-mudahan) tidak membuat kesalahan umum sebagai "turis".

I bought the shirt and the door signs when I was staying in Jogja. Yes, rambutan. So many good fruits in Indonesia.
