The only reason it passed is because it sneaked through the hole Cal left as he was passing. You can see it slip through right before the hole closes, in frame-by-frame

​@Astraa it doesn't open the gate, it just gives you the ability to hack the black K2SO robots. You get the ability to go through the second gate later.

you could just dash through the second barrier if you already have the ability and in the middle of the checkpoint is a upgrade for bd1

You have to progress thru the story to even be able to just pass thru the green barriers.
