Good video. I would interject about pounded sites and suddenly finding new finds however. I've experienced the same thing even using the SAME detectors. It happened to me this spring. I found 5 silver coins on a site I hadn't found anything in 5 years.......I stopped going there. Brought my Legend out this year and stuff started popping up....not even deep targets. I've used the Legend there before. Everyone in town has been to this place and found nothing recently until this spring. It wasn't a new or better machine......it was just the conditions of the day. Now it's back to being silent again lol. I've also noticed that when I and others bring a new machine to an old site we tend to slow down and dig more while learning the new machine. Often that's the real key to success. Which is why......as you've said in this video. Test gardens are really a great way to get an idea of what to expect because they're more likely to remain consistent. Targets in wild soil, not so much.

This isn't to say a new machine doesn't help.........we've all see how that can make a difference as well! It's just not always the case. Also the number of finds means nothing. I too found a LOT with my AT pro back in the day when my small town was virgin hunting grounds. That changed very drastically over the years. i find way less now........but it's all stuff my older machines have missed. Now I need a better machine or lucky conditions to pull targets from most places.

Objects in the ground are constantly changing position due to factors such as water flow, vibration, root growth, burrowing critters, etc. Frost heave can even move objects closer to the surface. All of which can mean an undetectable coin on edge, becomes a detectable coin lying flat, or the coin is simply closer to the surface the next year due to said frost heave. All of those characteristics are why the "I found this stuff in a hunted out site" doesn't usually mean very much.

@@calabashdiggeradventures Thanks. Those factors are why the only relevant test garden comparisons, are the type that you and some others do. Meaning, head to head comparisons at the same time.

Almost seems like the company is doing us solid by maybe making this machine a better unit than what it would have been originally. Hats off to both of you!

Great work cd 👌🏻🧑‍🦯 testers are in the know how , no way to see how a detector is performing in such a short space of time , than to get the nails out followed by a test garden test which one has used many detectors on and know what hits and doesn’t. Testing provides invaluable info on a machine before going into a field and add all those external influences
