lol the real question nobody is asking is why it took Garrett decades to finally use multi freq in a detector? we saw it in the 1990s when Minelab came onto the scene with the sovereign and Excalibur! If this was the space race Minelab would be at Jupiter and Garrett still stuck on earth! lol!

Even if they do put everything in the Vortex they will not match the Minelab x terra elite or Nokta triple score in the pro pack with headphone and 2 coils in value.

This is why competition is great for us, the relic hunters...the machines have come along way in the past 10 years...before that not so much. I started in 2000 with a bounty hunter and a Nautilus DMC 1...but lately we have a plethora of choices that are getting better and better

Big difference I've experienced is in types of coil manufacturers Been using the NEL Snake on the AT Pro. Machine still good and no need to get a different Garrett detector. Gonna try a Nokta for next machine. Minelab 800 machines are too expensive

Heck calabash I agree with you, as you said they need to show some real videos on the vortex other than finding coins in a yard even a bounty hunter will do that. I swing the legend and am proud of it's performance but I was really hoping this new vortex would be above the at pro which I use to have and enjoyed it but all I've seen so far from garrett is talk with nothing to back it up. Come on Garrett send Calabash a vortex for testing and I know he'll test it fairly against these machines you clam it will out do, we're waiting the balls in your court.

At the 3:30 mark of her beach video, the Dutch lady had the Vortex VX9 in Zero-Multi Freq. not Multi Salt with sensitivity on maximum and without ground balancing on a salt sand beach. Most newer SMFs including the Manticore and Deus 2 would be a bit noisy with those settings in that situation. My Manticore's target trace 2D screen does something similar when I haven't ground balanced it on hot ground with sensitivity turned up and I bump it..

After watching some of it again, it looks like she is still using the same settings, Zero-Multi Freq. Sensitivity 8, Recovery Speed 1. Whether she ground balanced it, who knows.

@johnbriggs5250 I agree with you completely. I myself have only been detecting for 3 years, but seeing it not include headphones, says to me that they could care less about getting new Garrett users. Adding a program that is specifically for hammered coins , ie European users, having a "prototype model" one month before release for the unveiling, doesn't bode well. There are plenty of experienced users here as you mentioned that were shocked as I was by what was presented. Receipts are being kept by everyone here. That archeology guy commented on one of his first videos of the vortex that it's better than the Manticore. I scoffed that comment , tild him t9 n9t compare it to Manticore, which Im quite sure he knows nothing about, and was reported and soft banned from commenting. For accuracy, he said their 3 line screen was superior to Manticore 2D feature.

Here is what I wrote: It's obvious you're referring to Calabash. Thing is, Calabash made it quite clear numerous times that he isn't judging the Vortex's performance because he doesn't have a Vortex to test the performance. All Calabash is doing, is comparing what features and accessories you get for your dollar and how that compares to other detectors. That is in no way "bashing" and besides, what he said was truthful and based on Garrett's information. If anything, he is providing a beneficial service to consumers that may not know that information, as well as possibly changing Garrett's mind which may result in Garrett adding some features. Calabash was not bashing the Vortex. In fact it is YOU that is doing the bashing. You're bashing a person for telling the truth and providing facts with words like "Silly", "Drama King", "Childish" and "Selfish. Those are personal attacks and personal bashing. That personal bashing is far worse than bashing an electronic device (which Calabash didn't even do)

I had apex for over 3 years and it fell short it wasn't stable when in multi frequency so I moved to minelab equinox and it's a game changer in machine
