Just taking a moment to thank you giys for the hard work you do. The other day I was surprised to hear Alex's take, disappointed even, but I would hate for that one disagreement to cause Alex to water down his opinions, stop sharing them, or even deferring to Giorge's. I'm noticing in this vid, that Alex is talking disproportionately less than Giorge. Maybe it doesn't matter, but I hope the gents take into account that we all appreciate both their voices equally, regardless of whether or not we agree.

It’s great to see the team be a bit more abstract and, even, direct. I think it was mentioned here last campaign but I think we are seeing some of the benefits of allowing the game to be one of transitions (and not total, complete, ‘dominance’).

Arteta used the game vs. Leicester City in trying to use new tactics and more importantly new Free Kick Routines in the game. It didnt work according the way they must've planned but they tried new routines. We will surprise the league more thn they expect of us. Scary days ahead, but not for us

Regarding the debate. I'd argue you could measure the impact of narratives on the on-pitch decisions made by ref. Using big data, you could analyse the given, or not given, cards, fouls etc, and stack them up against what was said at the time in the media. There certainly will be some correlation, just not sure how much of it. Love you guys, brilliant thing you're cooking here. I'm subbing to your Patreon in a bit, that's a promise. More to myself, really, but hey

Had a friend who used to say that once Gabriel ironed out the bozo gene, he would be immense. That friend has since sadly passed on and every time Gabriel scores or turns in a great performance (every week), I think of him. He died right before the 22/23 season. How I wish he could see his team now man.

Was just watching PSG and observed that all though Arsenal will be better in defence and the midfield , PSG actually take shots on goal from every where . Always feel there is a hesitancy with our players . It as if they lack conviction even when they are in the box . Trossard is the only one who is fearless and I see the same courage to shoot from Nwaneri . I hope that Arsenal doesn’t give PSG the kind of respect they gave a weakened Bayern Munich last season .

He was at fault for the second goal though, worldy aside. Unless I am missing something (don't have access to full replay) he was far too close to big Gabby. I assume it was a hangover from playing CB mid week and he got his positioning wrong. Looks like he could be an amazing signing.

On the 2nd goal for Leicester, I understand trossard and Calafiori comments from Alex and George But I feel Gabriel is also at fault. As the cross was coming in,3 Leicester players were attacking the box saliba was tracking Vardy, Gabriel for no reason at all drifted towards Vardy. He should have marked the central runner and screamed a calafiori to mark Justin. I think calafiori was confused for a split second because he got overloaded 2v1 in that scenario.
@MrLennyt3Ай бұрын
I do understand the criticism, but Justin struck it first time absolutely sweetly. It's like he was simply MEANT to score that goal. If he had taken even a touch, Calafiori is on him. You can see him arriving as Justin takes it. Not saying the attacker wouldn't have found a way to score, but the tone of the conversation would be different had Calafiori just managed to recover.

Still think Cala is to poor defensively, he is often caught overcommitting and out of position
@BetaFaxАй бұрын
Would you say that some of the positives he brings come from him overcommitting (in the context of what we might expect from the Arsenal team prior)? I think a fair criticism of the team is that we’ve not been too too interested in more abstract, and direct, play. We knew what areas it was important for us to occupy, so did our opponents, and it was up to them to stop us. I think, now, we’ve got the benefit of being abstract.
@Prem_POVАй бұрын
@@BetaFax I think that’s a good point. However you can see the amount of goals we concede with calafiori playing. I think that a strong foundation in defence is more important than a more intense press, especially with the return of Odegaard soon.
@BetaFaxАй бұрын
@@Prem_POV I agree. I think you can teach responsibility a huge amount easier than you can teach someone to express themselves. So, I’m thankful that he’s here and hopeful that the defensive acumen can be transferred over to him as he continues to learn.

I hated Lee Judges analysis to my very core. So reactionary and negative. Basically if we throw away leads against teams like Leicester we can't win the title. If we play that game 4 times on average we come out with a 20-1 aggregate score. We were dazzling on the ball. It was a remarkable attacking display
