Yeah bio weapons are a really nasty thing. Unless you're really good with genetic engineering, bio weapons will be indiscriminate. On top of that, bio weapons like engineered plagues have a chance to mutate and go beyond whatever you engineered them to do, meaning if you blacklist yourself from being infectable, a mutated strain might come along and get you anyways.
