Check out how CMG artists get signed!!! I can't accept money without having s lawyer present. Even if they come to your home or neighborhood. KNOW the terms first before u SIGN anything!!! U can put a mill in my face, lm smart enough not to take it "BLINDLY"!!!! You signing your publishing away and no telling what else! That is what not being taught or taking the time to learn the business you are going into. The most unknowledgeable get treated the worst!!!

Every business operates that way. Lawyers talk to Lawyers talk to Lawyers to hash these things out. But in Music it becomes predatory because they’re targeting young kids who are often economically disadvantaged. In the medical field that’s considered to be a bias or power imbalance that violates ethics because You’re asking someone to sign something who is compelled to do so. Business has no real ethics though, outside of breach of contract and conflict of interest lol. At this point, it seems you would be better off going to a bank or the small business administration Because all a label is, is a bank with a marketing department lol that’s also going to take your rights and publishing

They don't target kids that are economically disadvantage. They target artist that have a buzz which makes it easier to sell records. It just so happens that alot of these artists are young and come from the hood. If they can find a white kid from the middle of America that can get a buzz on his or her own, they will sign em too
@PTO_Finesse2 жыл бұрын
@@jesussinaloa9300 look at the rap game bro, they mostly target the economically disadvantaged. It’s so strategic it’s disgusting, every artist got a gang etc etc.
@vic98442 жыл бұрын
@@jesussinaloa9300 that’s a fact. These guys aren’t getting hunted. They are looking to get signed. They see the money and fame from the artists that are already on, and go in blind. They think all these guys are rich and they find out when it’s too late. When you thirsty for fame and money, many people would do anything for it.

The name of the game is not loyalty it's called legality.a lot of people don't understand that's on them that they sign their name on that dotted line without hiring their own private lawyer to look over it that's not going to back door them and isn't working for the label Period!!

Bruh record labels doesn't promote artists that's not sign to them!! So u can be a nice unsigned artist and you do a song wit Kodak's artist(s) Warner's is not gonna clear the record , only if u sign off your publishing to the record.. ex wale - bad, the original artist that sang on the hook, wale try to sign her but she Neva followed up.. so the write for the hook suggest Rihanna.. and their manager made some deal with the label . Only because Rihanna has a good standard for r.o.i

These music industries are like haters paying you to destroy yourself or slow yo self down its about control its not about benefiting the artist. It's a big agenda artist are just the mascots.

2:21 TBH artist has to take their feelings out of business and learn the business, soak it up, and understand it in and out front to back. of course they're going to get behind it and drop it in a month because it's Tunechi!!! Duhh!! 🤯 These executives, ceos, record labels they're only going to invest in what they know for sure they're going to get a return on. If it doesn't make dollars to them it doesn't make sense if they're not passionate about it or if it's not lucrative they're not going to supported or invest in it. Tune is a for sure guaranteed bet to them. I know they say you cannot underestimate the underdog, but who in hell is going to invest in the underdog, and say fuk that dog that's been winning every time?? 🤷🏾♀️ Riddle me that.

Bro beefing with everyone tho hard to take him seriously after shit he said about da baby. It's true you gotta update your contract tho the hotter you get can't have the same rookie contract when you signed for little bucks and then get mad. Get a new lawyer and agent and renogotiate your contract for your new clout. Any major gonna make you take turns they plan when artists drop its not up to you especially if you ain't huge yet. Not right. Not art. But it's how they think you build celebrities, giving time between each artist, so they make you wait till they're done with so and so. They also don't hire enough staff to deal with all the artists at once, some only focus on one or two their artists at a time, therefore you not dropping new music till its your turn that way either, even some the big labels like that.
