EASIEST PROCEDURE YOULL EVER HAVE. I had my wisdom teeth taken out today, two of them were impacted. I was on the verge of a panic attack I was so scared. I was given laughing gas then sedation. They put the IV in (which I barely felt due to laughing gas) and not even five minutes later I was out cold. The nurse woke me up and I swear I felt like I had closed my eyes for five minutes, even though the surgery was almost an hour. No pain at all, I was completely asleep I didn't hear or feel a thing. Not a thing, just a small prick if the IV. Guys it's not gonna hurt at all, I promise your gonna be great. I feel silly for freaking out, this was the easiest thing I've ever had done. I will tell you your gonna be sore after that numbness wears off, but take your pain pills round the clock every 4-6 hours and you'll never feel more that a sorness, no pain at all, an inconvenient sort of discomfort but that medication will keep you mellow and sleepy. Chin up, your gonna be more than good I promise ❤❤❤

Nicole I'm 17 and got 2 impacted removed too! The procedure went well the afterward healing process sucked ass!! Im not tryna scare you but I was in excruciating pain for the first few days and I got super swollen and could barely eat anything. Everything just sucked. It's been 2 weeks after and I still can't eat how I want cause it's uncomfortable. But I recommend mashed potatoes, soups, Mac n cheese, jello, pudding for the first few days and slowly start trying to eat normal foods. Make sure to take your pain killers they prescribe you cause the pain ain't no joke when the numbness wears off! And do salt water rinses to keep the wounds clean. Hope for a speedy recovery!! Keep me updated! :)

I had my wisdom teeth pulled last week. All 4, in addition to a bone graft. I'd look up videos like this one every day since the consultation, paranoid about it. Never had surgery before, never been sedated. I had IV sedation, what the surgeon referred to as "Twilight Sleep". Which is the same thing found in this video. Let me explain how it went for me. I went in super nervous. They put a needle in me to grab blood for the bone grafting (they mix your plasma with a cadaver bone, which they fill into a hole in your jaw bone from where the tooth used to be... only if the surgeon deems it necessary). They put another needle in me in the other arm for sedation. They put sun glasses on me, I'd assume to lessen the impact from the bright lights directed at my face. They put monitoring patches on my chest. They put very slight tubes to go into my nostrils (not long enough to go down my nose or anything) for extra airflow. For the few seconds before the sedation while I was conscious, I could hear my (insanely fast) heart rate, and I could hear my own breathing, from machinery behind me. There was a machine in the room that was used to play some music. Lots of stuff going on all at once, lots of nurses and the surgeon, the needles, the patches, the sounds, the bright lights. I was NOT in a good state of mind. They told me to lay my head back. I did, and within seconds it's like I time traveled. There was a slight 2-3 seconds period where the surgeon was going at my jaw / impacted tooth on the right side (where the bonegrafting I needed would be). And other than that it was all DONE. Seriously. I couldn't believe it was over. They had me get in a wheel chair, brought me out to my designated driver's car, and that was it. Also I was super numb at this point, no pain. I wasn't loopy after, I didn't say anything embarrassing, I had control, I was just weak and confused. Hope this helps someone. If you're getting IV sedation, you have nothing to worry about regarding the procedure, because you'll time travel to it being over. All you need to worry about is the recovery, taking your prescriptions, following the directions from the surgeon.

I had extraction surgery and had to get 4 wisdom teeth pulled today and the experience was very quick and painless. All I remember is sitting in chair with laughing gas and IV being placed into my arm... my vision got blurry...next thing you know I woke up! There is absolutely nothing to be nervous about when coming in for any extractions! :) Dr. Gilliand also checked on me a couple hours later after surgery, he is awesome! I am healing and there was no pain after surgery. Everything is going great with recovery!

I really think it depends on the severity of how impacted your teeth are. I just got mine done and they didn’t even have to cut the gum. Mine were erupted enough where they could just yank them, but I was completely out so I didn’t feel anything.

@@sabakhelashvili3845 i honestly don't remember, all i remember is the doctor speaking to me seconds before the procedure and then i zoned out completely, i felt like i was awake but unresponsive. If the doctor used less intensive sedative then you'd feel it and it'll be very painful.

I need a minor procedure. I am not afraid of dentists, but I need a penile frenulum removal. It is emotionally difficult. I don't want to be like a zombie also. I am afraid of such intensive medications and drugs such as lorazepam or midazolam. I don't know what to decide.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth’s pulled today and also was sedated (IV). Your probably watching all the YT videos because your so nervous and so was I TRUST ME! I’ve never been put under in my life and had 4 teeth extracted when I was younger but I highly highly recommend getting sedated because you don’t have to be awake and hearing them pulling out your teeth because it’s just too much. Trust me it’s worth it. Here’s my experience of when they put me to sleep. They called me in and had me sit, there was all the stuff prepared for them to sedate me it was pretty quick the entire process. The girls were very nice asking me questions about my life, foods, tv shows and my tattoos lol. Before putting the needle in she numbed the area with this cold spray and then put the needle in, it was painless and didn’t hurt one bit but that’s because I don’t care for needles so maybe that’s why. Doctor comes in and we chat for a few seconds and he starts immediately putting in the good stuff and didn’t tell me which I appreciate because I just wanted to get it done and over with. As soon as that liquid shit went in OH MY GOD I could feel it and I even loudly said “oh wow I can feel it, feels like I’m on molly” and that’s the last thing I remembered LMAO! Then I woke up in a different room waiting for my fiancé and the nurse and my fiancé walked me to his car. Honestly as crazy as this sounds, I would do this again because all because of the IV that shit knocked me out COLD. And the feeling of it afterwards felt good not gonna lie hahaha I feel like I was ready to go to a rave 🤣! Now I’m laying in my bed 4 hours after the surgery, ate three packs of apple sauce and DO NOT spit even taking out old gauze, read your instructions brochure they give you. After I ate I took half a pain killer they prescribed me (half because I weigh like 98 pounds lol). Also I have a cold head wrap around my head I bought on Amazon to cool down the swelling which is helping a ton. Also after you eat even if your not in pain still take a pain killer because it will hurt bad once the pain killers your Dr gave you fade away. Seriously I hyped myself up for no reason and was a nervous wreck but do not worry, easiest thing ever. You got this, give it a week of recovery and your back to normal and PAIN FREE!😇💗

@@airwolf3607 being put to sleep is the best thing! Don’t even worry about it you’ll be fine! Just eat all the yummy things because you won’t be able to afterwards. It took literally not even 7 seconds for it to hit it was crazy haha and it takes about one hour for them to finish everything so it was east and quick.

Prior to my appointment for extractions with IV sedation, I was worried about pain, gagging on blood and saliva, and generally having a tremendous amount of instruments in my mouth, and that was despite having looked for comfort in these IV sedation extraction videos. The actual appointment itself was beyond expectation for how easy it was. The dentist put in the IV and let the drugs work for a bit, then I was out of it until they woke me up afterwards to take an x-ray before getting helped into the car.

I’m 15 and I had all 4 pulled out today, the surgery was fine I was calm the whole way through, I didn’t say anything stupid the nurse helped me in the wheelchair and wiped any uncontrollable tears and, my sedation went away fast, it didn’t hurt it was just messy make sure to change your gauze so it doesn’t get full of blood and saliva, the aftermath is fine for me it’s pain is uncomfortable and I still haven’t been able to properly eat or take medicine so I’m running off of nothing, sleep is hard too but I put froze pouches on my cheeks (gently) and it helped me sleep cause I wasn’t focused on the discomfort, hopefully today I can eat some pudding/yogurt and get medicine down I couldn't yesterday cause the numbness didn’t ware off fast enough.

when i got my wisdom teeth removed the last thing i remember is the doctor asking me if i was sleepy. I said no. then nothing! then i woke up at the end of the procedure my face was numb and i was very confused. i must have made a very concerned sound (I vaguely remember going AHhhH?) cause the doctor said and I quote. "you're okay darling! you're okay!" 😂 i wasn't in pain I'm just an anxious mess and was like where am i?! what's going on?! like i said i woke up and i was lost like bambi for a minute. i was fine and the surgeon was so sweet and kind to me. i woke up fully about 30 minutes later groggy but coherent. i didn't feel a thing i just dropped off and woke up and it was done! you don't feel any pain it's gonna be okay! i promise! you kind of just drop off and they numb you up so you really don't feel anything. i was given laughing gas to calm me down cause i'm an anxious mess all the time and life is very concerning lol so i didn't even really feel the iv. i just blinked and it was over it felt like though it took about an hour. they helped me to my car. (my mom came with me to drive me home) the most inconvenient thing was they numbed me up so good i couldn't feel my face for hours after. and i was thirsty and hungry but i couldn't eat anything cause i could injure myself trying to eat and not being able to feel my tounge and lips. (no one wants to bite a chunk out of either of those i tell you what that's painful) but i would rather they numb me up real good than feel the pain. i remember thinking my face had been stolen for a moment cause i couldn't feel it. but then i woke up and realized i still had my face so i was good.

Just got all 4 extracted today. The anesthetic was insane. There was no counting back from 10 or a fade to black. I was just instantly on the other side like nothing happened. I don’t even feel like I closed my eyes. They IV was in, then it was done! However, I did puke once I got home :(

Nice job. I had my last 3 wisdom teeth removed today and they sedated me. I just felt a little drowsy and that's it. There was no pain during the procedure. I had no swelling and too be honest I probably could have drove myself home ( which I wouldn't recommend).

I got Iv sedation for the first time.. it´s been still very uncomon in Czech to use sedation for dental "surgeries". I mean, there is a lokal anestesia but that´s it. I am quite anxiouse person, so I got 3 mg of Midazolam and 75 mcg of fentanyl and it was the most plesearable hour in the dentist chair EVER :D ...I smoke a joint few minutes before like premedicaion and really great.

The patient was under twilight sedation. By definition, the patient can respond to verbal commands. But he has no memory of the procedure. As far as he is concerned, he thought he "was knocked out completely" when in reality, he was just under twilight sedation.

Only you can decide how you want treatment done. If you're afraid of sedation, they can use local anesthetic like Novacaine and you can be awake the entire time. However, sedation is very safe. I have gone under many times with no issues.

I never was put under for anything so I did the twilight sedation in which I was terrified of being sedated, so much so I waited 4 years to get my teeth pulled, finally the other day it happened and my heart was racing, but to anyone who is nervous, it’s nothing, it really is a breeze, I promise it’s one of the easiest thing ull ever do and it’s definitely not scary, I can’t even remember them operating, it’s like I just teleported to the future from the IV straight to the recovery room, no in between, it’s quite nice I will say lmfao

I previously removed two wisdom teeth at the same time but the doctor did not use this method of anesthesia to anesthetize me, he just anesthetize me with local one, here in Saudi Arabia usually they don’t use medication that make patients feel comfort we need to suffer.

@@srrfgb4039 it’s not insanely bad man, I was expecting worse but to be honest I woke up like myself I could walk normally and everything. The only problem is the numbing agent and the gauze cause you can’t talk for shit! But yeah man the IV isn’t bad at all if you’re expecting to be loopy or to wake up spilling your secrets, it doesn’t happen. All I was, was pissed off that I couldn’t talk so I had to do fucking sign language. It doesn’t hurt as bad as I thought I mean the pulsing headaches and mouth aches aren’t a plus. Honestly the numbing part was the worst for me dude. So definitely do the IV I could never imagine doing it without IV now that I know how it feels afterwards.

I have one impacted but it doesn't bother me so I'm just leaving it alone. No way in hell am I going through this again. Unless I'm completely out like the first time.

He's under twilight sedation. He's technically not asleep. But he has no memory of the procedure and felt no pain. So, as far as he is concerned, he thought he was completely asleep.

Candy Wilson I have had both and this is my experience. IV sedation is the best for me. I was aware of what was going on but felt spacey and tired. There was no fear or anxiety. I felt good through the whole proceeder. Highly recommend it. I have had gas and massively hate it. First of all the smell and taste was sickeningly sweet like eating a whole triple chocolate cheese cake with hot fudge in one sitting sweet. I would not breath the nasty crap so they pumped it into me. I then had a seizure and was so scared I fought the gas and woke up. They put a needle into my arm and I felt better. I had a trippy dream and when I woke up I could not see strait and felt sick. I was wobbly and confused. Clarification: I have had 3 surgeries to remove 12 extra teeth. My most horrifying experience was when I was nine years old. I was having two teeth removed with only a local. No gas or IV. I felt everything. I was screaming and crying but they did not believe me and simply carried on. Even to this day it is extremely hard to get properly numb. One needle is usually enough to numb a person. I usually need 4. When I was nine they used one very small needle. I wanted to punch the damn doctor.

Not necessarily, it is just noted that we are 2x as likely to get it, because of the estrogen.

Nah,I was on birth control when I had all 3 of mine taken out(the 4th didn’t develop) and never had one...although when I had a tooth pulled when I was 12 I did so I think it’s just if you get it you get it....just don’t use a straw or suck on anything after surgery to make sure you don’t disrupt the clots and you should be fine

His eyes being open doesn't mean he was aware of what was going on. He has no memory of the procedure. We've had dozens of cases in which the patient was in a twilight state but had their eyes open.

I remember going to get my wisdom teeth removed after I just got out of 8th Grade for the summer back in 2019. I was super nervous when the day approached and when I got to the dentist chair I was shaking of fear. By the time I got the anthesia I could se medical devices hooking up to my body and blood being drawn from my left hand and after that I passed out. It felt like a few seconds had pasted when I woke up and I was super disoriented, confused, weak and tired. It took me a few weeks for the surgery area to completely heal and after that i requested a burger from burger king as a treat.
