I like the “boring” pieces - simple, classic and with the right choice of fabric, an evergreen in your wardrobe. Still “quite luxury” style.

I bought about 10 of these magazines in the 80s and made the nicest clothes. I enjoyed figuring out which pattern pieces I needed to trace.

The shot black jacket is really right mix of sporty style and elegance. Not too boxy, not too tight. I definitely will sew it!

Von petit bis curvy. I didn't see any petit-patterns. Thanks for good video.

Exactly!! I was wondering the same, did I miss the petite patterns?! Did not see any!

Nice issue. A big difference with the issues of the second half of 2024.

Trench coat is beautiful, jacket at 30m 40s color combination: I love it! the red top at 34m 12 s looks messy and uncomfortable to wear for me, and the rest of the things you said I totally agree. It seems that a pattern for the denim pants at 18m 29s are not existent, which I would have loved to see. Thanks for this great reviews, I actually want to buy the magazine, also next one as well, that white jumper you mention is cuuuute!

I am very excited about the jumpsuit, too!

Not sure what I think of this months magazine, i really love the fabric on the cover, but apart from that not too much inspires me, but its mid season, so waiting for better things with the full spring issue. thanks for the flip through as usual x

I am very curious about the next issue, what they are going to give us on those sleeves!

I have subscribed for 2 years, and now I see each month is a basic repeat. Burda makes them in a different fabric, which is still helpful to me. They could make Burda more interesting, with fewer patterns but interesting articles, interviews, and tutorials? I like Top 105. In America, pattern look 117 would be for an escort. It's not been exciting for months, and whether I keep my subscription is debatable. Doing red again for Feb. When did they do red in January? They could do so much more in 2025, not with patterns but with trends not on the catwalk but on the streets, interviews, video tutorials, etc! I hope that this is about their budget and not laziness. Thanks for the post!

I have the feeling that the interviews that they are doing are always a bit fancy and high end. I would love to see some more home sewing people being interviewed, some interesting full tutorials and not just the drawings from their Burda book.

I find that with this digital issue and the pattern information on their website, you get very little information on the fabric used, or even if there is a lining f.ex. Dress 107) . Normally with digital patterns, or with the paper patterns such as Vogue, you get the options for fabric and the fabric consumption. This seems quite restrictive to me and I prefer to wait (too long 😢) for the paper issue.
@CameliasSewingChannel3 күн бұрын
Indeed, I think that they could work the information a bit more! On the PDF patterns that are also as envelope patterns, they put all the information with what is needed for the pattern. I hope they will work on the pdf patterns from the magazine to extend the information. Also, like they have in the paper version, the weight of the fabric used etc. The price is in the end much more expensive than in the paper magazine, so I expect that thy work more on the listings. In the pattern file all this information is available, but yes, that is visible after I buy the pattern!

Well, well, well, an interesting issue after the dismal January one. It does look like they are FINALLY trying. There’s a lot I like in this issue, but of course some things I don’t like, and let’s start with these: I totally agree with you on the weird squishy weird greenish Jersey , one of the worst fabrics I’ve seen recently . The sporty patterns styling is just absolutely crazy, and I thought exactly the same, where is this person going with metallic boots, sequins, chains AND a yoga mat, but I guess there’s people on the streets dressing like that nowadays that would make a mat an accessory 🤦🏻♀️ and good for them. What is with the omnipresent cargo pants? There’s one in every issue! I think that the sleeve details are a trend to be observed because Burda has always been very good in catching up with trends very early. I don’t like the black pants as well, the fit is completely wrong for the model. Now I do like the skirt with the beautiful waist band detail, the cover dress is darling, the black jacket with the sleeve buttons on the front I love, the retro dress I think it’s beautiful. They made a very interesting AI video with this retro model on Instagram, it’s beautiful. I am exited about this “new” take on the magazine, I hope they can pull it off. I am also very positively curious about next issue, it’s looking very good and there’s an authentic Burda feel about it. Thanks so much for sharing, I am always looking forward for your reviews. I do get the digital Patrones, but Burda I have to buy fromGermany and it takes a little bit longer to get here. And I am still contemplating making videos about this very interesting Brazilian pattern magazine we have here which is so very different 😌.i am also very curious about Burda Curvy and Burda Stricken that should be announced by now, no? I like Burda Stricken a lot and I hope they continue with it. Burda Curvy was also great, in the last 2 years there were really beautiful patterns in it, and in the last one a oh-so-pretty red dress and a pair of barrel pants with lots of details that reminded me of the ones in this issue of Burda. Well, fingers crossed Burda improves and apparently my resolve of stopping buying Burda is postponed at least for now 🥰

What is the name of the Brazilian magazine ?
@CameliasSewingChannel3 күн бұрын
I would love to see one time, in real, someone with that outfit on the street and of course the yoga mat!! :))) I took a subscription to the Burda here in Spain as it is cheap and I still like to have the paper version. I would like to see that magazine that you are talking about :) The new Burda Stricken is out now but my problem is that I can only knit with instructions in English so that is why I show no interest in Burda Stitcken :) I have high expectations from the next Burda!!
@ruedina12 күн бұрын
IMHO Burda's designs, instead original and creative, is rather a bit bizarre ;)
@CameliasSewingChannel3 күн бұрын
I think after so many years of Burda, if we get back we will find hundreds of awesome patterns. For these sewing magazines, coming every month must be a real struggle to bring a number of patterns that are and completely new and interesting for everyone and creative and so on. I have a very big collection of sewing magazines and sewing patterns so now I can appreciate the Burda and the Knip and the Patrones also as an inspiration for details that I can use ( let´s say a particular sleeve or a neckline etc ) or their use of fabrics ( colors, prints textures) that give me inspiration in the use of my own stash)

I find all the new burdas boring. I am buying old burdas from 2014 and older,that seem to have more fitted and complex patterns. I have to alter the bigger size but their patterns fit me the best. So I guess I will not be buying the february issue.
@CameliasSewingChannel3 күн бұрын
There is a style change , definitely! I have my subscription since 2008 and many issues before that , so the great thing is that if I can´t find new patterns that I like, I can always go back to my collection. Seeing the new issues is still fun :)
@maaiketjepkema720717 күн бұрын
I am over burda. Love watching your videos but their plus size patterns are always boring, usually oversized and quite predictable. Bordering fatphobic. I just dont buy them anymore as I get excited with a pattern only to discover that it is not made in my size. Sometimes I might scream at my knipmode but at least I get to decide which patterns are for me.
@CameliasSewingChannel17 күн бұрын
Yes, the curvy patterns are disappointing! I wonder why they don´t put a bigger size range in all their pattern as Knip.

I think the fashion industry goes retro when it runs out a new ideas and that’s just boring
