Calculate Maximum Drawdown Without VBA | GME Example

In this video I will show you how to calculate the maximum drawdown in excel (Without using VBA) by using 2 examples: first we’ll find the maximum drawdown for GameStop (GME) using the series of daily prices, and in the second example we’ll see how to calculate maximum drawdown for a portfolio, in this case we don’t have prices, but we have returns so we will see how to find the maximum drawdown in that case.
MDD measures the maximum fall in value of an asset over a certain time period, and we calculate it as the ratio of the lowest point or lowest trough divided by the highest point of highest peak minus 1

It’s a great way to find max drawdown as a number. But it it gives the wrong date of the drawdown. A better way to know the date and value of max drawdown is to divide current date price by Max( current -since inception)-1. lock $$ the current value cell in Max formula

How to find the exact value of drawdown, not the percent For example if my account goes from 16k to 8k, it's a 8 drawdown, if it goes from 116k to 108k, it's still a 8k drawdown, even though first one is 50 percent and second one is around 5 percent I want to find the 8k drawdown value Not the percent
