This would be more accurate if named "Adjusting volume to arrive at a weight" I was hoping sketchup would do the "weight math" for me based on input an of a material dencity and the volume of a solid group. Then sum it up to see how much my model will weigh with different materials.

If we could assign a material density at the same time as a texture or a fixed weight for a given component, then Sketchup could calculate the weight of groups and components, but also the total weight of all sub-components of a component.

Yes! I didn’t know distorting the container maintains the Entity Info calculation. This will go great with my poured concrete elliptical!

Hello Aaron, I'm still struggling with Tags & Outliner. I've been using SU since 2008. I have been relying on Tags /layers. I don't understand how to use the Outliner in my work flow. Most of my work is detailing building maintenance works. Could you perhaps help out with a series on Outliner in a building work flow? When to use Tags & when to use Outliner.

Please, could you make a video about the differents colors that sketchup show with the faces? Sometimes are white, grey, etc. I love your channel! I learn a lot with you. Thanks!

I wrote an excel sheet about 2 years ago that does all of this for me based on the density of a material. Since density=mass/vol And weight=mass(gravity). You solve for mass in the density equation, then sub it into the weight equation and then i have all the properties of a material i need. Of course excel does all the work for me very quickly haha

It would be useful to tell people what to do if "Volume" does not appear in the "Entity Info" window.

Update your SketchUp to a 2020 version.

@@alejandroavila2646 What!? 2020 automatically fixes problems with solids not being manifold, having internal faces floating internal lines etc?
