make sure that you use a large transparent tape and a wrinkle free silver plastic to get the best result or else if you used two tapes which overlapped each other you would get as shown in the video 😅

I was wondering if there is a specific type of "silver plastic" that works best. Is the silver plastic just a metallic conductor sheet overlay-ed in a plastic sheet? is it the same material as a potato chip bag? or do I just need a metallic surface for the display to show?
@TRASH2TREASURE3 жыл бұрын
I don't know whether it is available in the market. It didn't felt like metallic. The material is not same as the chips bag but it was the most similar looking and easily available material that I found. You could like try with different material( paper, various plastic, metallic sheets) and see which works better that is which material provides best visibility

Thanks Bro, good channel! You show me the real reason of such trouble appears. Because I think it is liquid cristals start leaking out from the middle of the screen and that this kind of trouble impossible to fix. Thank You one more time!

I am too scared that I may break the glass. How did you take out the polarizer? Did you use some solvent?
@TRASH2TREASURE3 ай бұрын
If that's the case then don't do it. I only attempted this because this was already a damaged calculator and was about to throw it away. So it didn't matter to me even if I damaged the glass. I would only suggest you to do this only if you are going to throw this away. I didn't use any solvent

hi my battery leaked too :( can yours still work without a power source? by using the solar charging?
@TRASH2TREASURE3 жыл бұрын
Mine still works but I had to replace the battery. I do remember my calculator still working without a power source but had to keep the solar cell in moderate light for it to work
@shaobo19953 жыл бұрын
@@TRASH2TREASURE but since the battery will leak, isnt it better to not put in battery and just use solar charging?
@TRASH2TREASURE3 жыл бұрын
If you are planning to use the calculator it is better that you replace the old battery to a new one. Leakage happens when a battery is left in a device for too long, especially when it's not used. Relying on solar will work but there will be many situation like when you are doing a calculation and by mistake covered the solar cell you might have to retype it, this will become a problem if you are doing matrix or algebra

hi what kind of glue did you use and what brand
@TRASH2TREASURE3 жыл бұрын
I used flex kwik or you can use superglue, you can use any other clear glue for this. Even though I used this the plastic was not sticking

what is the size of the battery?
@TRASH2TREASURE3 жыл бұрын
It depends on your calculator. In my calculator it is showing the size LR44
