I wish I'd found you earlier Prof V! My professor isn't great so I've been teaching myself at home with just the textbook and it's rough. I found your channel and it's been a massive help. Will definitely be following along with you next sem for calc 3!

Ohhhhh I’m so happy you were able to find my channel Emma! It can be so frustrating when your teacher doesn’t explain properly and there’s no one you can turn to easily. I wish you lots of success this semester and I’m happy to be able to help you with the rest of your math journey in Calc 3! ☺️☺️👍🏻

This is the most random thing ever but I LOVEEE the tapping sound your pen makes as you write, it’s seriously sooo therapeutic and nice!! plus thank you so much for these videos I literally don’t even bother going to lecture cause the way you explain makes so much sense 💗💗

You’re not the first person to say that!!!! I’m so glad, because I was worried it was annoying before I heard my viewers say otherwise. Happy to help you learn all this material more easily! Just don’t get in trouble for skipping lecture. 😉😉💕🫶🏻

At 27:21 when you when from n=0 to n=1, I thought you were supposed to shift the all of the terms with n in them. For example, in this case, after shifting from n = 0 to n = 1, I thought you would have to shift all of the n terms in the series by decreasing them by 1.

So we aren’t shifting the index at this step-just simplifying the expression. Notice if n=0, then the first term of our sum is -1/2, which cancels with the 1/2 outside of the sum. So in the next line we can start our sum at 1, instead of 0, and cancel out the 1/2.

Hi Professor V, I want to ask questions after example 2, what makes us express the f(x) in the form of (1+x)^(k), instead of expressing it into (1)/(1-x)? Aren't they both power series expressions but why different methods are needed? Hope you can answer my question, thanks~
@mathwithprofessorv

It really just depends on the context of the problem, if k is not an integer then it may be easier to work with the function as a binomial series instead, but a lot of the times both methods will work!

Hi professor V, I don’t get why you multiply the denominator by 6?
@jdums8534
@jdums8534 6 ай бұрын
in the first question, to multiply by 6, because it requires to maintain the fraction value not changed, since the numerator times by (1*2*3)
