Sounds like she's a very good teacher... This is the way to explain things by breaking them down to bits and show how they made up! Most tutors use this formula y(x) without even telling why x is in brackets or time (t) is squared. I do not like teaching something on a superficial level and expecting people to figure them out or know them b4 hand...

Speed of light has the same relation with energy where E is dependent variable while c is the independent constant. E=mc^2

I think the other input that would change the length of the plant’s shadow is the angle that it is inclined along the surface of the ground and also ( how flat and smooth is the ground that the shadow lies on)

Another function of shadow length could be the tilt of the surface where on the shadow falls, assuming the surface had a veriable tilt facility.

11:02 for torch I guess it would be the relation between intensity and distance, since by inverse-square law I ∝ 1/(d)^2, intensity(I) would be 'y', and there will be a constant to remove proportionality so it would be 'k' and 1/d^2 will be 'x' .

In case of a flashlight, the diameter of the projection and distance from source is dependent by this relation.. Also the concavity of dish is parabolic (y=x2 is the eqn of a parabola)

0:54 there ae many other factors on which shadow depends upon; • Reference frame of observation • Velocity of sun & plant, though they are at same angle.(if sun moves away with 0.5 c from plant which is also moving 0.5 c against direction of sun, then literally there will be no shadow) • Distance between sun & plant, keeping angle same. • Shape of plant • type of plant & Many more.....

1)Less light more visibility more light less visibility in context of torch functioning 2) rate of discharging of the cells in the torch results in rate of change of brightness in the torch.
