To anyone planning on using a grinder please understand how dangerous this tool can be! A grinder is arguably the most dangerous power tool. I am a pipe fitter so I use this tool very often and I see people not respecting how dangerous these tools are. The biggest thing is to wear a face shield in addition to regular eye protection. Do not cheap out and skip the face shield especially when using wire brushes! The brush wires will inevitably shoot out without you even realizing it. Also the grinding wheel can come flying off! Yes it does happen! Especially if you don’t know how to put on the attachments properly. Also wear tight clothing unless you want to become minced meat. Long sleeves are also a good idea but not entirely necessary. Be sure to have gloves on as well but make sure they fit tightly. Lastly I would highly recommend hearing protection.

There is max rpm written on every attachment like wore brush it is the most dangerous attachment but only if be used with proper rpm ie 8000 rpm mostly grinders run at 12000 rpm but have speed control option as in mine 125 mm angle grinder russain model one should also wear protective gadgets but some time you ignore the safety and pay for that i had a big cut with this wire brush but lucikly i was not so severe to stop the work coz i was running my machine at full rpm i was my mistake then i never increased the rpm beyond the recommended rpm and every thing went fine since then you also observe great vibration while using this wheel be careful safety first

It is quite difficult for surgeons to remove these wires from a calf muscle. They need to cut into the muscle, and feel for the wire, and keep progressively cutting deeper until they can feel the wire on their finger. So not only eye protection is required. The thin wires can go anywhere a very high speed. Be very careful!

I really don't like angle grinders (nor chainsaws) - there is too much torque going on with hazardous stuff too close to the body. I use the grinder as little as possible, and only with welding gloves, safety glasses and a welding helmet. Even with all that there are lot of body bits exposed to high velocity shrapnel.
