Nice work Greg, im picking up tips for when I reach your stage 😃 the window sections were easier to shape without heating because of the direction of the grain, I was surprised to see the grain running diagonally on the centre pieces though.

Grant, as always you are 100% correct it seams to me that no two kits are the same especially when it comes to wood grain of various parts as you know each piece is unique

Thanks Grant. I didn't actually notice the grain direction. But that explains it :)

very nice video as always, but you know what's funny. I was watching your video and I was 100% certain that you putting those pieces inside out. Because how I did it, was the glass provided I cut out every single individual window into that small gap [ 3 windows per piece and put it like that. Yep and that took me forever. Anyways, I went back to the book and yours is correct mine is inside out but not big deal. But learnt something new for when I start second HMS victory. I always write these kind of things in my notes of improvements

Thanks mate. I was stressing over the correct orientation. The photo in the manual looks like the indented side faces out but to be sure I checked a few build logs. I'm bound to get something else wrong though lol 😆
@PUNISHERMARKO2 ай бұрын
@@GregWilson635 yeah you are correct, manual does show that side to be outside. I made mistake and assumed that that small cut out was for the glass piece. Lesson learnt never assume 😀

Nice build Greg, Really an individual thing as to using CA or PVA, but like you, when I cant clamp, i favour using CA. My shed is completed today so fitting out will follow, and hopefully a vlog
@GregWilson6352 ай бұрын
Thanks Bill. A lot more people these days are only using CA glue but i'm used to using wood glue when i can. Will look forward to seeing your shed. I would like to do the same thing one day. :)

@@GregWilson635 I am taking it one step at a time as this is the first time on cam. Hopefully I am posting what people are interested in. I have a ton of viewers but I don't know if they like them or not as not many or responding back.

@genojoe3176 From my point of view, what you are doing is great. Giving a good insight into building that ship, and it certainly is a fine looking ship. I'd say keep doing what you are doing mate 👍
