Sometimes i use the Caldwell 92 for fun as a close range gun and another gun with better range as a primary, but you need to understand the effective range on this gun.. don't even cross my mind trying to 40 meters plus range shoot this gun at all. It fits pretty well the 15/30 meters gap that the buckshot shotguns doesn't kill anymore. Imagine you in a close range fight with the possibility of 2 tap real fast a man in the chest and kill him (faster than the Officer and even faster than the Officer Carbiner).. that's the gap for Caldwell 92 to shine. And yes.. this gun needs more spare ammo.

I think the Caldwell 92 is more of an officer alternative, using it to wallbang and long range isn't really its purpose. I don't know if other people can get kills will the officer consistently the way it was used here either. I like to think of it as more of one of the quick short range "panic" guns.

It is, and it fills that role quite well. I regularly pair it with the crossbow and dumdum ammo, and it's a good finisher for people shot with the crossbow.

I honestly find the new army OP at close ranges. It's like an officer but more damage. You can just run in and spam the enemy and guarantee a kill. My favourite weapon is a Martini so I don't mind the slow muzzle velocity

Huh?? I love the gun, the thing about New Army is that it has low recoil compared to the rest of other handguns, except Precision variants. Most Hunt player are used to using gun recoil to line their shots. I see Rachta do it every time he uses Uppercuts. Also Hunt is divided in 2 camps muzzle velocity players and FMJ players. The only difference is whether you lead targets or not. High muzzle velocity players get so used to it that they loses leading target skills. FMJ or heavy ammo players shoot too proactively instead of reacting and end shooting like they are paranoid, high muzzle velocity calls for more patient shots. More reaction, more defensive shooting.

The caldwell 92 new army its really strong with the right loadouts it has such a low recoil even the dolch that costs 750 has way more recoil that the new army and if u compare them to close range you are gonna have about the same results mostly 2 taps to the body the funny thing is the new army and the dolch have the same dmg the dolch is faster but with the recoil nerf youre gonna shoot the dolch less faster in order to hit the opponent so in concusion the new army shines with good combinations and it serves as a finisher or an easy 2 tap to the chest from upclose the downside is the ammo pull and the range so 7/10

May I suggest to help you learn how to fight at range just running the Winfield Centennial for a few dozen games being forced to learn to click heads with a 600m/s muzzle velocity and no damage to body at any real range really taught me how to fight at a distance and properly aim my shots with the fire rate, I know its a dogshit gun but if you want to practice its a very very effective and cheap way of doing so and then you can drop down to normal fmj velocities once you have the basics down, really helped me out after I did it.

i mean... i really don't think this gun was made for range at all.. the effective range on it is 79 meters, the Caldwell 92 is for close range fights, like 15/30 meters distance. Think with me.. when you're using a shotgun, you'll never try to snipe anybody.. the same happens with this gun; 40 plus meters, you just change guns and use your primary.

You can dislike the new army because it's not versatile but it doesn't make sense using it for every range and then complain that is bad at long range. Yes, it is but if you take it in a loadout you will be using the new army only as a short range weapon and it's good in that spot. It's like going in a match with only a mosin sniper and complain that you don't have a short range option

If it had bullet velocity comparable to the Officer, the only thing the Officer would do better is having more 1 bullet capacity. Some weapons are gonna be worse than others, but the dominant decider if you'll use something should be personal preference.

I enjoy using this pistol. It's a preferable alternative to the Nagant officer, as the sights for that pistol don't mesh with me well for some reason. The muzzle velocity is pretty bad, but it's a pistol, which is a weapon bracket I generally am not skilled enough to use past 70+ meters anyways. It's a fairly reliable sidearm, but not quite primary or independent weapon material. The damage of a caldwell conversion, a fire rate comparable to the officer, and the muzzle velocity of a silenced weapon. It's not the size or speed of your bullet, it's how you use it. Perhaps the new army just isn't a good pick for high level play, as it's not good for wall bangs, but if you can consistently hit heads, or at least two body shots within it's effective range? This gun holds it's ground against typical single actions simply due to it's fire rate alone.

It's good for close combat, but impossible if you are 40+ meters far. Sometimes it takes 3 bullets to kill someone in the chest even if the hunter is in front of you. I still believe that the best pistol is the caldwell chain one.

The conversion pistol does 71 damage at 40m. And the new armys damage is lower. so ofc its a 3 tap. But it can fire 5 bullets in the time other pistols fire 2.

I mean, it's not good when used in combination with 2 chain pistols :D . It's great when combined with a Lebel/Mosin, Vetterli or the Romero 77. It's light damage, fast follow up shots, it's meant to give you a way to finish someone off close range after you tapped them with something heavier.

I found the problem with this gun: people are using it wrong. It is the worst option for hitting people at range, so it should be used as a CQB weapon. If someone is charging you, this weapon is the best option for the price; fastest TTK.

I just don't see the the upside this gun would give me, to not take the Officer. Except for when I'm ammo pooling with it for FMJ maybe, but even then it would make more sense in many situations, to just go with the conversion pistol. IMO this gun has basically no reason to exist and I don't mean this hateful, but find it sad, because I usually found most new weapons to be nice and fill some roll. The whole scottfield family fits very well and helped push middle ammo. The bow is fun, although slightly more on the PvE side of things. The slate... well yeah, now there is actually 2 guns that use Iron devastator (I jest, the slate is nice).

@@BrenoAmado You obviously dont have a lot of experience using either medium or compact based on you calling them "absolute garbage", which is just nonsense. Both Vetterli and Winnie are amazing weps in the right situations and easily outplays Mosins and Lebels in the right distances. I run all ammo types almost equally, and i find them all equally useful and strong. If your playstyle is very catered towards long ammo then other ammo types will of course feel like trash, because you're using them wrong.

Except it does 97 damage instead of 74. And is one of the strongest pistols in the game. And if you cant hit a target at 40m with a 200m/s projectile you just need to just stop playing the game.

Idk I’ve killed loads of people with it. Def not a pocket sniper, but great at close/medium spam. Don’t even try dual wield though it’s garbage for that. Shit accuracy and slow reloading even with ambi.
