When I think of Lead Sled, I think of Grandma's 78' Buick. You could drive it through the brick wall of a bank, back out, and drive off.... without any damage! 😂

I know a little about the led sleds I bought one when they came out 30 years ago or so and have used one because a drunk driver took my head off almost completely and a 7 hour surgery and lots of titanium I am able to still hunt but recoil could be fatal if it damages my spine enough so I have to be careful! Led sleds work great if you use them how they were meant to be used and not a cure all for recoil!

Sled is a country boy rail gun if you've never seen a rail gun it's just a barrel and action mounted on a metal block with wheels sit on a track with springs for recoil even the triggers are set at 2oz not 2lbs that's 2oz it takes almost all human error out just wondering if anyone has seen these before 👍👍

That sounds like unlimited class of shooting competition. No limits on a lot of things that would normally be restricted such as weight of the gun, scope magnification, barrel length, etc. At least that’s what I think it was from reading about it many years ago.

My Led Sled has a bent tube that runs front to back. This was made this way for firearms with dangly bits that hit the straight bar the one you have. Your other one has two tubes a few inches apart for this. Both of yours have upgraded parts to improve performance over mine. I like how they can absorb the recoil. Even more so if add weight to the tray. I find it uncomfortable to use. I soot better with bags. I'm a bit vertically challenged, 5'6", so the extra reach the rest adds to firearm is what I find uncomfortable. To each their own on this. The Led Sled isn't that expensive, so testing which works better for you. On firearms with low recoil either works well. On heavy recoil firearms the Led Sled may be a good choice. I like having both options. One difference between yours and mine is the elevation adjustment. Mine has both the rear and front rests mounted on the tube. This tube pivots on the base to adjust elevation where yours have the big screw that moves just the front rest. Mine has an adjustment between the two rests that is used so the butt of the firearm can set flat on the rear upright part of the rest. This way when it fires the recoil is spread over the whole butt, not on top or bottom of the butt. This helps prevent damage to these areas of the stock. Especially the bottom of the stock where there is less material to absorb the recoil.

Lets design a portable system that holds the firearm in a viselike fixture and is controlled by some sort of mechanical system that is operated by a separate joystick controller so that the human equation is totally disconnected. It can have a small camera that looks through your scope or sights down your irons and displays the image on a small screen on the controller. We can even mount it on wheels or tracks so that we can send it out like a drone so that we can deer hunt from the comfort of our recliner in our living room at home. This new machine will give us the best accuracy and do so while giving us the best comfort also. Why go out into the elements to shoot or hunt when you can do it with more precision, efficiency, and comfort? I can fully appreciate the advancements of modern day equipment to help us to perform better, but sometimes I feel that we are losing perspective in the overall picture, but then what do I know, I'm just a decrepit old dinosaur who has fallen behind the times. Nothing wrong with useing whatever is available to advance your skills, and the point is to do better and do what makes you happy. Good luck to everyone in achieving their goals.

I have a lead sled which I have not yet used and did some research on in shooting forums. It seems that when using high recoiling firearms, sleds are sometimes responsible for broken stocks and scopes because the gun does not move freely during recoil like it does on one's shoulder. Also, the point of impact on targets is not the same as just resting the gun on a bipod or sand bags. Have you encountered any problems with your firearms when using sleds?
@WHOTEEWHO Жыл бұрын
That is all bad information. I've never had any problems

Hi I love your videos. I have the same lead sled. I’ve noticed the rifles are wobbly setting in it. After you take a shot it moves the slead. Then once you get it aligned and try to adjust the crosshairs it’s a pain because the rifle doesn’t lock in place and is unsteady. Was wondering how you keep the rifle from moving when dialing in the scope?
@WHOTEEWHOАй бұрын
Just hold it still w one hand and dial w other. Usually doesn't matter too much bcuz I am dialing based off distance to the hit so I know how many clicks
