I thank you for showing how this works. I just bought my first LONG RANGE rifle and it came with one of these never used one of these before. Hood or bed of truck. Sandbags or deer stand rail but no bipod

I'll tell you one bi-pod never to buy; the Champion brand. After long shot strings on my 243 laying prone, the roll pins fell out of the feet, the screws loosend almost completely out of the leg/frame attatchment and overall they just suck. I thought it was just that one, but my next range trip with a 6.5mm running another Harris look alike did the same thing!! So now, I run nothing, I mean nothing but Harris. And if I switch from harris it will be an Atlas. Ive had too much bad luck with Chinesium bipods. American made. Harris. Love your vids Vaughn! Just adding my 2 cents!

Chad Harzbarger I've got a couple Harris bipods, nothing against them at all. The Caldwell seem to be holding up very well and for half the cost. I know there are some really cheesy ones out there like you mentioned. I've owned those as well and the pins for the eyelet fell out, all the time.
@Kman31ca7 жыл бұрын
Ya, I've never bought anything but Caldwell. They work great. Never had a problem with them at all. Was tempted to buy a Harris, but just can't see the reason to for the price.

I have 2 Harris bipods and thought I would give the Caldwell a try. Lasted about 2 years and I have noticed the springs are inferior in size, gauge and strength to the Harris. My Caldwell failed with the spring tension and one leg being compromised. The slightest bit of forward pressure when setting up for a stable shot causes problems. I do own other Caldwell products and have no complaints other than the bipod.

No, you'd have to get the separate. They may offer one that has it already but I'm not sure.

I recently purchased a savage and have been entertaining the idea of creating a build similar to yours so I have enjoyed watching your videos quite a bit. They are very informative. I don't recall you mentioning the type of stock you put on that rifle, other than it being a Boyds. I like the design of the adjustable cheek piece. Which model is that from Boyds' selection of stocks? Again, I have enjoyed your videos and look forward to future videos you put out. Keep up the good work!

Phillip Rutz thanks for checking out the videos. I used the Boyd's pro varmint stock then added on with the customization options they offer.

Had a pair of these 10 years ago. Fell apart, no customer service. Yesterday on your recommendation decided to try these again. They would only be used for load development not for hunting. They don't need yo stand up to long hunts. I put them on my gun and leaned into them. They fell off and my $2000 rifle landed on the tile. The Chineese Keychain ring they use to keep this all together cant hold a 9 lb rig. These are made in China, no customer service. Harris are made in USA. Great customer service, good people. I own 3 pairs of Harris and have had 2 of these. These were on my gun for seconds and never again. I wouldn't put these on a 22.
