Manhole covers aren’t left off by mistake, they are stolen for scrap metal. Taking them from a field is easier than from a busy street area!

That makes perfect sense, but alot of ppl that work those pump houses are saying the electric panels (whatever theyre called) would've shown something is off with the fllow in that area. Apparently that's how a plumber can tell exactly what pipe has the issue.... And it doesn't have to be a big item to show interruption. So they can get that small item before it causes bigger problems in that area and nothing was off in that pump house. Btw fantastic work you do with computers

It's so hard to tell what might have happened. I mean, people walk while looking at their phones all the time, oblivious to anything except what's on the screen. But the hookup seems likely to be more of a setup under these circumstances.

This case is a reminder to love your kids no matter who they're attracted to, bc you could lose them while you are distanced & have unresolved issues... which, IMO, is the only thing worse than losing a child. Just live, & let live... love, & let love. Esp a young college kid. It's also a reminder to let your friends/family know where you're going & with who. Leave a phone number or a license plate number or text someone the pic/info, & screen-name... like you would do when getting in an uber/taxi (perhaps, that's just what girls feel like they "have to" do? When everyone should do it. Take a pic of the license plate or screen shot their driver info & send to someone). Leave a note w/ their number/info & when you'll be home... then, if you come home, throw the note away. If you don't... they'll be able to find you. There's been WAY too many cases of ppl going missing, & ending up trapped in a storage container (or sound proof basement) for days or months, to be a weirdo-perv's torture slave. So, Whether it's hiking or hooking up... tell someone where you're going (& with whom). He seemed like such a kind, caring guy. Such a shame he had to live under a cloud of such shame, instead of focus on school, finding out who he was, & living life to the fullest.

I would like to add that based on the video of the "mound" (not actually a mound even, it's just an area the farmer doesn't attend to because of the manholes there), the open "manhole" that was shown doesn't look like sewer to me. I know you're saying the GIS shows it is inline, but the thing is there are 3 "manholes" at that spot. Any one of them could be sewer. We don't know why there are three, but my guess is one is sewer, one is storm drain, and the third open one is possibly an old well or something. If you look at the video the uncovered one is lined with old bricks. Sanitation construction doesn't use bricks for sewer manholes, it's prefabbed concrete. Also if you look at any common sewer manhole there's a ring of concrete around it. The open one in the video doesn't have that. So to me it looks like a well. At the bottom of the open manhole it does look like the open cross section of a pipe runs under it and you can see water coursing through there, which would be strange for a well, but the pipe doesn't look much larger than 10" to me. This open manhole or well not being shown as a sewer manhole on GIS tracks if it is in fact NOT a sewer manhole. I think the chances of this "mound" or corn field area of interest having anything to do with the remains found are pretty low.

It appears to be a mound because it's an unplowed area. As far as several manhole covers, remember Gray has shown us it's a T intersection of two pipes. I believe that may explain more than one manhole cover.

What's not explained in this video is the terminology. A manhole is just that, a hole for a man to go in. A pipe is not a manhole. A pipe moves liquid. A manhole cover covers the manhole. Therefore you can have a situation such as a 36" manhole cover, covering a 36" or less manhole, leading to a 15" or any other measurement pipe. A person could in theory easily fall into a 24" or 36" manhole, then get stuck or moved into a 15" pipe at the bottom of the manhole.

I just thought of something. That pic that was taken at the drainage canal, Caleb took that pic to tell people he was there when he was attacked, and that area is where authorities should look for him. Caleb knew something bad was gonna happen to him, and he couldn’t get himself out of it

He was barefoot I believe you said too. people tend walk around aimlessly when on cell phones not paying attention.. so why would he be up on the mound barefoot & not on his phone( if no activity after photo) hence something nefarious happened. i would say that if he was still walking the dog maybe the dog ran off and he went after it and fell in. it was really foggy that night. but if i remember right he had returned the dog before his last picture. its still odd that he took that picture. all you can see if the bridge and fog. too bad you cant take some of that fog out of the image to see if there's anything else. it didnt look like an accidental picture. who knows. maybe he took it to send to someone who was supposed to pick him up there at the bridge, as a visual landmark. it probably would be hard to tell if he fell in and disassembed or if someone disassembled him then put him in there but i do think you have a pretty good theory about what could have happened if he did go into that manhole. we will know soon enough who they found in the pump

seems coincidental to me that Caleb was an environmental science major when you consider where his body was found-nobody ever mentions that strange coincidence 🤦🏽‍♀️ i’m sure employees @ the pump station were questioned and interviewed-i wonder whether there are night shift employees, though-i doubt it 🤔 i think a possible hook-up would be highly suspicious but someone would have still required access to the pump station to discard his body…i think it’s improbable that he fell into a manhole but he could have been forced down or discarded into one

IMO...... HE did not fall in it. He met with foul play and was hauled over to the manhole and put down in it. He had no shoes on after he put the dog back inside he went out to wait for his uber order and MAY have seen something that he should not have seen and was eliminated as no witness left behind. But until there is acrual evidence if foul play i would suggest that it is more likely based on iccams razor that he fell in. But who knoes and actual evidence will tell one way or another.

I believe you're correct, but still confused on why he would walk out to the mound to begin with, especially without the dog (since he had already taken the dog back home). Likely had something to do with the hookup he was hoping for that night, but how far is that from the Oso Trail on foot? The manhole mound is too out in the open for someone to have transported his body there without a vehicle, but seems too risky for a car to pull up there without being seen. For whatever reason his phone pinged near the well/pump house 9 minutes after the snapchat he sent of the bridge. Was that snapchat meant for the hookup and he sent it to the wrong person by mistake which is why a friend/relative got the unexplained pic? Either way the phone was likely in the water washing downstream 9 mins later. Ugh, so many questions, but I think you're closer to the answers than anyone else!

In the video it does show a cone which was probably put there by the city(?). I'm guessing the manhole cover is missing? They would have put it back on after their inspection, not put a cone as a "caution". If that's true....how long has the manhole cover been missing? Could be a huge lawsuit should someone fall in. Also...rain water goes through a different system....not the same as waste, which is what the body was in. So the storms have nothing to do with it.

It was confirmed that the manhole opening itself is wider, I believe they said 18 inches or wider, and yes, they first found a shoulder bone, so as his body deteriorated it was able to fit through the 15 inch pipe.

That open wastewater manhole in the field was likely very deep given that the pump station was reported to be 40' deep and these underground wastewater pipes gradually slope downward for wastewater to flow. It was reported Caleb was planning to go fishing that day or the very next day and so it's very possible that he decided to walk across Ennis Joslin to the field to look for worms for fishing. He likely saw that mound in the field during the day and thought it might be a good location to find earth worms. The night he went missing was foggy and he walked to that bridge, where he sent the photo, to possibly check there also for worms. Given the dense fog he chose the mound in the field. Keep in mind that mound is only about 20ft from the sidewalk. It was very dark and foggy when he ran into the field towards that mound to quickly look for worms. The manhole cover and frame were missing and the opening was at least 24" in diameter. grass blocked most of this hole in the ground too. Caleb walked up onto the mound and never saw that hole until it was too late. He fell 20 to 30 feet down likely hitting his head on the edge of the opening knocking him out and possibly killing him in the process. His phone likely received water damaged from the fall. His body decomposed quickly due to it being in an open air and in wastewater were rodents likey contributed to the process. The pipe leading from there to the lift station is reported to be 15" in diameter. His entire body was decomposed enough to eventually wedge itself into this 15" pipe. After several months passed his body had decomposed enough to where it moved into the lift station after that area was flooded by tropical storm Alberto. That manhole rim was fixed and a cover was attached sometime late April. This was likely a terrible accident when Caleb was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The big question is how did all those people searching for Caleb miss this mound in the field with a wide open manhole, that was just feet away from the road, right accross from his apartment? That makes no sense! So it's gotta be likely someone in the ground search saw this hole in the mound but didn't think it was anything or important enough to report. Only later did someone else decide it was important enough and report this in mid to late April which the city reportedly did a quick search in that 20' well, but it's likely his body was already decomposed enough and wedge into the 15" pipe leading towards the lift station. Search for worms to use for fishing the next day makes good sense especially since he had ordered food minutes before his phone went dead. Why order food and then plan to meet up with someone at the Oso Park which could take at least an hour or more to then come back home with your food outside your front door. If he was meeting up at the Oso Park it would make more sense for him to order food after he was done at the park and then order his food. It makes more sense that he ordered the food thinking that he could quickly dig up some earth worms nearby and have his food delivered right around the time he would be back with some worms.

I keep going back and forth with the info we have, meaning of course we do not have a lot of what LE has, but lack of any other info it sure seems like a terrible accident, he was an outdoors guy something could've caught his attention and he went in the field to check it out and fell in, but then the size of the pipe doesn't make sense, and he could've got out of the manhole itself. But then wouldn't the searchers have seen or smelled decomp by then??

Manholes are not very deep-5-7’ deep on average. And most have integrated ladders or indented “steps”. Once you get to the bottom, you’ll be standing in sewer stuff. If he fell in and there was no ladder, he would have called out for help, but would have survived.

Even if he fell in, most likely he wouldn’t have immediately died would he? If the area was searched, theoretically wouldn’t have someone heard him, or him hear someone? I’m sure he could’ve been extremely injured but could he have naturally died before the searches started?

Unless he hit his head and became unconscious but you would think if they searched the field they would have looked into that manhole. He wouldn’t have been all the way into the smaller pipe yet.

The 18" pipe is the outflow from the well to the treatment plant. Meaning it's after the pump. It's not possible for a body to move against a pump force, through the pump, and into the well.

@@Mike75575 I have, pay attention to the lift station ID. The GIS plans tell you what station is downstream of each pipe. The Perry Place station is the station listed as downstream of the 15" pipe. A different station is listed as downstream of the 18" pipe. Off the top of my head I believe the Perry Place station ID is 1051, or something close to that.
