I remember hearing the news about Christina and my mom found me on the porch just crying. She was an incredible artist, and a wonderful person. I've never heard this song and boy, does it hit home for the situation I'm going through right now. Granted, not 100%, but enough to hurt. I've had so many dreams of this lady I met in high school. After being friends for 10 years I finally had the courage to tell her my feelings and the dreams, she asked me to wait until she was ready but she had said she was interested just had her own demons to conquer before she was comfortable. That was 2 years ago. Last October I asked her where she was at, she said she would be close to ready so I started planning for December. I got her a some gifts and a letter that I'd send her that basically reassured her that regardless I'll wait for her and that I'd always care. 3 days before Christmas, after I had already sent the gifts and the letter she announced that she had started a relationship with someone else, in November and had kept it secret. This song rang true for me. Every day has hurt since then. The dreams never stopped, my heart still hurts, I'm still trying to figure out what I am to do. I had been waiting so long and then poof, gone. We still talk but I haven't had the courage to say anything, I don't even know if she had received the gifts and the letter. I just know this will be another scar on my heart that I'm going to have to live with for a while.
