The Crew Talk on 765 was done by Rich Melvin who was part of the Original Restoration of the Real 765 back in 1970 however in 2020 rich Melvin Would make has last run marking 34 years of being an engineer of 765 so congrats to him on his retirement I had the opportunity to witness 765 operating between Steamtown National Historic Site and the Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania

You are correct. We’ve been lucky enough to ride behind the 765 and we’ve been in the cab too! It’s a gorgeous locomotive in person and Lionel’s model as well. Thanks for watching. Happy Railroading! 🚂🚋🚃

Nice review and video Caleb. Have you ever seen the Nickle Plate 587, a sister locomotive to this one? The 587 sat for years in Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis before being removed to make room for a new library. I took photos of the move for The Associated Press. It was quite an undertaking to get that massive locomotive rolled onto a flat bed truck for the move on city streets to the nearby rail line, then the overnight process of lowering the locomotive to the tracks before a push by a freight train to the Amtrack shops in Beech Grove for restoration. Several years later I covered the first excursion runs by the 587 as it pulled trains between Indianapolis and Logansport. I shot photos of the train as many people watch and took photos as it crossed a highway on the Saturday run, then rode the train on the Sunday to get images of the experience from the inside. I later photographed the 587 when it was used to pull the Indiana State Fair train and I rode behind it several times during those years. I still have all the photos. I did notice in your video that the second headlight was there, then not, then there, then not. Did you incorporate f\some older footage?

Thank you. That’s awesome. I’ve never seen the 587 in person. I’ve seen it on KZbin videos though. It’s a good looking locomotive! Yes we did use footage from when we first got the locomotive. It’s delivered from the factory with the single headlight boiler front. It comes with the dual headlight boiler front in the box and you have to change it if you want to. We wanted the dual headlight because that’s how it looks today. We’ve been working on this video review since we got it. We wanted to do it right. It’s a special locomotive to us. Thanks for watching. Happy Railroading! 🚂🚋🚃

Great review Caleb, I love 765 too! You should get a N&W water tender cause 765 always had one while pulling excursions. Awesome run session, and Happy Railroading! 🚂😊

Thank you so much. We definitely need a N&W auxiliary tender. It will go with both the 765 and our J. Thanks for watching. Happy Railroading! 🚂🚋🚃

Awesome sauce! That whistle is one of the best Lionel has ever done! I’m actually getting the new release of the 765, from Brady’s trains! They’re even bringing the engine up to the train show I go to every January since they have a booth there. It’ll be interested to to see what other whistles it will have besides this one. It seems like your 765 is a bit louder than the 1225. Or is it just me? Great video as always and congrats on such a great new addition! Happy railroading!

We agree. We love the whistle. The sound volumes are the same. It may have not been turned up all the way on the 1225. Congrats on your 765. Thanks for watching. Happy Railroading! 🚂🚋🚃
