That was super cool! "Caldonia" or "Caledonia" (I'm never sure how to spell it) must have been the first jump blues I ever listened to, way before I knew what a jump blues was, of course... There are tons of great versions around, from Eddie Vinson to Muddy, and B.B. to Gatemouth Brown... The list goes on! It's been played as a swing number, a rockabilly tune, a jump blues, you name it... What a great song, thank you Johnny and Skyler!

Oh thank you for that shimmering beauty. Ever since I heard Muddy and Pinetop swing and 'rap' her I wanted to wrap my strings around Cal'donia. But you know with her kind of feet ... she was just to quick away. I also love the Winter-Muddy-Cotton take on 'Breakin it Up'. Enough ... all the best from Munich, Bavaria 🌻:)

What a great lesson. I hate that it took me until today to get to it. Skylar’s jump blues and bebop seasonings were such a great mix! This is a buffet of great information and I’ll have to watch it a few more times to soak it all up. Thanks so much Johnny. I always pick up something new to learn or listen to with your lessons. Thanks brother!

Johnny did you notice if Skylar was using any Nocturne Brain pedals or pre amps? Just listening to you guys play I hear him making an octal tube amp amp sound which is so period correct on a lot of the covers song videos I referenced him playing after watching this. Folks check out Skyler on KZbin. Great singer and player.

thanks trampas, he went straight into an amp.

@@JohnnyBurginBlues those octal tube amps break up in a distinct way. Very different than anything else. There’s a few folks that make pre amps to get those early sounds
