I ordered five 3/4" NPT QuickSetter Balancing Valves w/ Flow Meter after watching this video, they came in today. THESE ARE AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT, QUALITY #1 ! The threads are machined to perfection along with a smooth forging of the brass. plastic protectors fit perfectly and they even send a formed insulation covering for the valve, a nice touch. I did not know that these valves also perform as a check valve so I'm sending back the five check valves that we don't need, another well thought out benefit. I'm certain these are going to work perfectly for our job were we are modifying a potable water recirculating system. Thanks Mark Olson, this product probably saved us over a $1,ooo not having to use electronic controls, electrician, check valves and ridiculous labor required to balance other types of valves that can't adjust to varying conditions that always change over the years. . We are sold on Caleffi.

Hi Mark, Great presentation. I just have a question regarding the use of check valves before balancing valves, you mentioned their use to avoid thermal siphoning, could you please explain us a little bit more in detail this subject, thermal siphoning?
@CaleffiHydronicSolutions2 жыл бұрын
Thermosiphoning happens because hot water has a lower density than cooler water, and that will cause hot water to rise and cool water to sink when static. Check valves can help prevent the water from migrating, as they will only allow flow in one direction. As always, reach out if you need help with a specific application: techsupport.us@caleffi.com

why is it also called double regulator valve?
@CaleffiHydronicSolutions7 жыл бұрын
Balancing valves are used for managing flow rates in hydronic systems. Pressure reducing valves are used in residential and commercial plumbing systems to regulate pressure. These are actually two different applications. Hope this helps.

Caleffi Hydronic Solutions .....what I meant is ....why are balancing valves also called double regulator valves(DRV) ....I not talking about only HVAC applications
