Calgary Stampede attendees boost local business

Attendance at the Calgary Stampede is approaching record-breaking territory, boosting the city’s local businesses and tourism industry. Margot Rubin reports.

It's a local area thing only. Restaurants in my far SW area haven't been getting any increase in business. It's a downtown and Beltline thing, that's it.

I noticed that residents were also much more active and engaged with Stampede events this year. There were a lot of backyard BBQs as well. CostCo has been extra busy.

I'm in Montreal and noticed our festivals are BOOMING again just like pre-Covid!! I can't believe it but society seems to have awoken from its depression finally. The clubs have llineups again..the kids are vomitting from drinking too much again..hotels are and restaurants are jam packed..its amazing..I'm so relieved. I thought I was the only person alive still enjoying life for a while there...
