Also saw diy for boats using 2x4 bunks. Buy plastic gutter down spouts. Split it down the sides to give you 2 U shaped channels, Mount to the sides of your bunks with stainless screws.

Amazon says that it is not designed or recommended for gel-coat fiberglass or painted aluminum halls so why are we using it fir bunks on a boat

BunkWrap is primarily designed for raw aluminum boats and pontoons, or poly-hulled PWCs. The primary issues related to gel-coat, fiberglass, or painted is hulls, is that sediment can get trapped between the hull and the bunk, which can be abrasive. The same issue exists with carpet and other bunk materials, sediment gets trapped in the fibers and wears the surface over time. We've had customers install BunkWrap on the hull types in question, who swear by the it, but the product was installed at the owner's discretion and they were aware of the product disclaimer. The most important thing, for any boat type, is to ensure your bunks are clean prior to loading/unloading. Thank you for your question!

I'm gonna share some knowledge. I got to thinking about this product and the thought kept popping in my head that there's a better way without the high cost. Finally it hit me. I went down to home depot and bought straps of cove base and using liquid nails construction adhesive. I made my own bunk guide strips. Works like a champ for a few bucks. Give the adhesive enough time to cure and it ain't moving. That's what's on my trailer bunks. 😎

Definitely looks like it's on the thinner side of the market for this type of bunk covers not to mention the install on that trailer isnt convincing anyone who saw this video to want to run out and purchase this setup

Will this product scratch my powder coated toons on my tritoon?

The material itself is non-marking, non-scratching, and non-scuffing, with a built-in lubricant. We can't say that for sediment on the bunks though, if they're not kept clean. Same situation for carpet. It can trap sediment and hold it in the fibers.

The carpet must be removed for proper fitment and drainage - leaving the carpet on would lead to trapped moisture and likely speed up deterioration of the bunks.

Over priced of course. Anything for past time sports is always too dam much. Slice up a cutting board into strips (they're made of slippery nylon) and screw it to your bunk boards (counter sink the screws) Slick as snot on a doorknob!
