This is absolutely formidable! Thank you very much! I have that same printer and after doing a fair share of mods to it, I felt like it was time to play around Marlin itself, and this will be definitely my guide through it. You probably know how Chris over at Chris' Basement did something similar but for the Cartesian-style printers and I could not wait for something to come up for deltas -- and now I got it! Glad I subscribed to you after watching your MRRF video otherwise I would have missed it! Thanks and keep it up!

Hi Matt, thanks for the video it has been the best advice I have found on the internet being a relatively new person to printing. I've followed your steps but I had the firmware that came with the kossel installed beforehand. I installed marlin 1.1.8 with all your settings successfully but when I press auto home it doesn't auto home but instead just steps up. Also, when i get to doing the delta calibration it goes up into the endstops instead of down towards the bed, what do I need to edit in the code to change this?
@InsideTheMindOfMatt6 жыл бұрын
I’d start with your stepper direction get them moving in the right direction once you get that if endstops don’t activate correct invert them also. Some times it trial an error. MOST IMPORTANT make sure you have the wires going o the right place on board nothing will work right if wires are swapped. I’m here to help you as best as I can so feel free to ask questions. And your welcome and thanks for the kind words
@leveluplife85856 жыл бұрын
@@InsideTheMindOfMatt I'm having technical difficulties, when I press Auto Home it goes up in increments of about 10mm until it hits the endstops then it stops. If I press auto Calibration it sounds like a machine gun at the top and the top and my endstops are right.

Hey Matt! Your video is really educational! despite that, I'm having a problem. I did everything like you did in the video, and the marlin file imports just fine. But when I use the Auto Calibration option, when the pulleys reached the top it didn't stop and keep on moving (it stucked there but the motor is still running and it made weird noises). Is there anyway to fix this? My printer is Anycubic Kossel Plus (basically yours with a larger bed). Thanks! P/S: I'm a beginner so I know basically nothing about Arduino and stuff. Bought the machine 2 years ago then it broke (it was printing midair) and I got bored. After 2 years, I cameback and is trying to fix the bug.
@InsideTheMindOfMatt3 жыл бұрын
Before you get to the calibration you need to make sure you printer homes correctly 1st if it don’t you need to check the end stop logic and possibly swap till it homes correctly

After doing most of this my prints were coming out pretty solid but I could not print without a raft because my first layer was digging into the bed at random areas in the first layer. If anyone else is having this problem I finally found a solution for my printer which was uncommenting line #991 which is #define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_BILINEAR, then you just upload, run the auto-calibrate, store it. Now my bottom layer is the same all across the edge and I no longer have to use a raft.

Inside The Mind Of Matt So when I press auto home it just goes to the top and hits all 3 z stops and doesn't do anything else. When I level it nothing goes wrong it gives me the new z offsets and stores them fine. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

When using the manual calibration on the printer, it start with a value of "-5" instead of 5 like on this video, and i can only increase the value, and lift the nozzle even more from the bed, if I try to go under -5, the nozzle goes all the way up (but doesn't home, just hang at maximum height) what could cause this inversion? and why doesn't it like to go "over" (in absolute value) the 5 mm it gives?
@InsideTheMindOfMatt6 жыл бұрын
Nagby3 sounds like your stepper direction is backward does it auto-home? And there is a setting marlin to allows to go lower I believe it’s software min I’ll have to look if you can find it but check movement direction 1st and let me know how you make out
@Nagby36 жыл бұрын
steppers direction are correct, but this calibration is acting very weird, the way I got it to go lower was : first do a "calibrate height" and validate the height it goes at because I can't go any lower now the height in delta settings isn't 0 anymore, but 230 (my printer height is around 240) so I can manually get it to 240mm (doesn't let me change this value more than that) and then i could get to the bed with the normal calibration, by turning the dial a lot ... since it always started 10mm away from the bed now doing a test print, a bit too high, but i guess i would just have to do the height calibration a bit lower now?
@Nagby36 жыл бұрын
also, the printer home very fast ... too fast (everything is shaking) what speed value do I have to edit for that? edit : vmax of course ... the configuration.h file I started with had 300mm/s for all axis, while 100 is already max speed for my drivers

Well as long as you have to proper step/mm your going to want to change your delta diagonal rod value. If print size too small lower value if print too big raise the value

I've follow all steps but i have two problems: 1. when i click on Auto Calibration my printer isn't move. 2: when i click on Auto Home the nozzle crashed with the bed and broken the glass. What can i do ?
@InsideTheMindOfMatt6 жыл бұрын
Wow! Sorry to hear about your glass. Well the 1st step is the obvious you need new glass. but it sounds like your z height is set to high i'd lower that value so it doesn't crash and you can increase it to get to the the bed set the height before you calibrate delta

Hi Matt, First of all I would like to say thanks for uploading this video, it is a great help with the basics for getting the Anycubic started; and I must say that it has more detail than a lot of other videos on KZbin. With that said I am encountering an issue when I am trying to upload the sketch from Ardunio, in that it fails to upload due to conflicting data in the Temperature.cpp file. As this does not appear in your video I am wondering if I am doing something wrong, is there any help you can offer with this?

For some reason when it wants to auto home it just keeps ramming into one of the endstops like it's not working, yet when I home it using pronterface (g28) it works just fine, so the endstop seems to be physically working, but there is something else going on

Oh thank you for your quick response, much appreciated. however I'm afraid i need to ask another question. Okay, so looking on the processor it says ATMega2560. So when I'm in the Arduino program and i attempt to upload I'm getting an error, that reads, "pasting "/* SPI Master In Slave Out pin*/" and "_DDR" does not give a valid preprocessing token" it's line 100 in the 'Sd2Card.h' file which reads. "#define SPI_MISO_PIN MISO_PIN // SPI Master In Slave Out pin" ...and I don't know what this means or how to fix it. would you know what this means? I'm new at this so i could just be making a simple mistake.
@DrFross096 жыл бұрын
Update: I figured out this has something to do with enabling SDsupport, I have an SD card and I would say I prefer to print from the SD card, bu in fact it is the only way I knew how to print anything. I would like to use the SDsupport, but I don't know how to get around this error.
@DrFross096 жыл бұрын
Okay I copied and pasted the error into google and this came up forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=542083.0 . This fixed my problem, apparently the 'Sd2Card.h' sketch combined with the newest version of the Arduino IDE creates a bug that causes this error. So if anyone is stuck @12:23, it's not your fault. Follow the simple directions on this forum and it'll allow you to continue on with the video.

about ready to give up on this... Autotune fails. Manual tune fails. Never saves the settings! I always hit store and they show but it's like it ignores them. the center is always perfect. then it acts like a rainbow from side to side of x and y. Then it gives me options to tune ZXY I do this feature and it randomly changes highet as it moves. but then Marlin 1.1.6 works fine...

Make sure in your firmware you enabled eeprom

Inside The Mind Of Matt you know.... new to delta printers* have cnc everything you can think of in my workshop lol. Mills, routers, gantry printers.... fn sensor! Lol. The marlin 1.1.8 for what ever reason offset my sensor -20mm on y axis from the printer tip. Even though printer sensor was dead over the nozzel. But yes eeprom prom was first thing i checked. Im using a Edison board with a 6 breakout board for my project. Optical everything. Project over kill! But i loved your manually setting up video. Was a real goid way to get a ball park for the auto probe setup. Nice video!

I followed your tutorial, but get the following error "Arduino: 1.8.5 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)" In file included from sketch\MarlinConfig.h:40:0, from C:\Users\***\Downloads\Marlin-1.1.x\Marlin-1.1.x\Marlin\Marlin.ino:31: SanityCheck.h:621: error: #error "DELTA_AUTO_CALIBRATION requires a probe or LCD Controller." #error "DELTA_AUTO_CALIBRATION requires a probe or LCD Controller." ^ exit status 1 #error "DELTA_AUTO_CALIBRATION requires a probe or LCD Controller." This report would have more information with "Show verbose output during compilation" option enabled in File -> Preferences. "

Cant undertand when im going to auto calibrate the motors push all the way up....same things when i go to move Z when i go down the motors goes up
@InsideTheMindOfMatt6 жыл бұрын
What happens when you do just an auto home? If movement is opposite during homing then invert steppers in firmware and re upload
@kubimmer62076 жыл бұрын
on my mind i think that you have reverse polarity of the motors please check it in marlin :)

I fix that long time ago ....now I’m trying to figure out how to use z probe from anycubic but I think is not the best things think I’m going with something like inductive or optical probe or change with bltouch

Bro its a simple project www.thingiverse.com/thing:315698 . For my delta this probe works perfect :) but remember that you have to mesure level on heat bed for ex 90 deegres. If you mesure and save to eeprom you have to use comand m421 in your start GCode becouse command g28 delay mesh leveling. Peace :)

Thanks for helping me. I have found the problem. It was Onedrive, it wouldnt allow it to work without unchecking files on demand. Successfully uploaded on my delta :) Watching the rest of your video now.
