Hi fiery guy. I have just had my first day with an Imagepress v700 . The initial calibration was done using a basic Xerox premier 90gm. It isn't the brightest sheet, so I suspect that my base calibration has knocked all the colour profiles out. Does this make any sense? Usually we use Xerox colotech+ as our standard sheet. Should I recalibrate the machine again using colotech+ to obtain better colour throughout all my materials?

It does make sense. With the Canon imagePRESS V700 (the next gen following the C710), I would advise following my Linearization How-To first, then the Fiery Calibration How-To video in that order. I stress using "Hammermill 28lb 100 Brightness" media stock both 11 x 17 (Linearization) and 8.5 x 11 (Fiery Calibration) for each process and optimal results.

@@CampFiery thank you for your swift response, can I presume that the 28lb is the equivalent to 100gsm. Edit - my apologies, could you post links to the linearization how to. The engineer who installed is on a different wavelength to me (a printer). He did do the procedure, but perhaps overlooked the importance of a specific sheet. Thanks again.

@@QuadDamageFPV the Linearization video is already posted on my channel. 28lb is equivalent to 105gsm

@@veaties Well that sorted my calibration - thank you so much. So we calibrated using the panel on the imagepress for the Fiery, using a 2 sided coated 8 >350gsm - and the colour was much improved. Now I need to setup for all the other weights andd types - but I'm no longer panicking about purchasing a new EFI Densitometer - we can muddle through for a while now. Thanks again - I'll be checking out your additional video on this subject.
