I think this is a great detailed video. Someone like myself, who is in the process of writing a book and looking at all of the options this is a treasure. You really detail how to use this program. Thank you. Please ignore the trolls. It seems some people have nothing better to do than to spread negativity. GREAT CONTENT!!!!

Is there a basic template structure to produce a small book quickly, such as a picture book? If there are templates in theory you could produce something without knowing a lot of programming or settings. Thanks.

Can Calibre solve the problems where traditional word processing and document preparation of manuscripts mess up when it tries to convert the formatting to phone and tablet viewing? This particularly gets messed up on picture books, and when pictures are in a document. You go to upload it onto Kindle publishing, and it has to convert the format. And the iphone, tablet format isn't the same as traditional desktops and books. So the formatting gets screwed up there. I'm hoping this can work for solving that. Or at least improve it.

When I download any book in Epub format from 3party websites and then convert it to Mobi by Calibre... after sending it to Kindle .... the PAGE COUNT is showing WRONG.... for example there should be 300 pages, but it is shown near 2500 pages... and when I turn pages... each time it is turning like 7-9 pages forward.... how can i correct that issue which is frustrating and pissing me off???

Hi, I am trying to publish for the very first time in Google Books and keep getting this same message by 50, 60 of them. I know I need to study HTML, however, can you tell me what this is and how I can fix this in my eBook. FYI, I used h1, h2, h3 for titles, sections, and subsections throughout my book. "Error while parsing file 'attribute "link" not allowed here; expected attribute "class", "dir", "id", "style", "title" or "xml:lang"

Man, thnx for the video. Just from a feedback perspective, the video kinda took some more time than needed. But in the HTML part, I kinda liked your view. I entered this video thinking that it would be easy to modify the ebook, but when you talked about how all books are on an HTML format, and because of that it kinda gets hard to modify them (for the basic user), I realized that its gonna be a little more complicated than that (no disappointed, just got more realist about the task).

We live in the time when there's officially HTML5 being praised and accepted. Knowing that, is it possible to create eBooks in real hi-def (as in quality images, different fonts and sizes of text and much more) ? What is your take on that? 🙂
@techtoolsreview91928 жыл бұрын
+kevin frederick Tech is constantly changing so you have to adapt if you're to remain relevant/competitive in business.
@kevinfrederick3788 жыл бұрын
Tech Tools Review thank you so much for the remark and this video. helped me a lot. Talking about adaptability, is Calibre still relevant for designing eBooks? Or is it better to move to Adobe InDesign?
@techtoolsreview91928 жыл бұрын
+kevin frederick I use Calibre for most of my clients, however if you want the best formatting compatibility and overall standard tool in the Publishing industry, then Adobe InDesign.
@noahriding5780 Жыл бұрын
You asked what your take is on that... right now the biggest problem seems to be that the formatting between traditional documents and books doesn't easily convert to tablets and iphone viewing options. So when you create an ebook, the formatting especially gets thrown off for picture books. This is the problem now many people have.

I found it very difficult to focus on the content you are trying to deliver. I wish I could share my observations in a private message, but since I don't know how I'll just post them here. - Recording an instructional video when you are sick is perhaps not the best idea - your voice gives away you are well congested and it does not sound great at all; the recurrent sniffing is distracting and annoying. - Given the video is titled " Calibre Tutorial" there is way too much irrelevant information at the beginning - the first mention of "Caliber" per se comes after 5+ minutes of rambling. (I understand that there is value in comparing some of the most popular tools available for people in this line of work, but I think it maybe made more sense to produce a separate video about all that for the interested audience, instead of cramming everything into one session.) - There is a lot of verbal debris and bits that don't add anything significant or lead anywhere. The narrative feels scattered too. 29 minutes is a lot of time for a tutorial; I think everything you talked about in your video can be covered in half as much time. I am not a pro. Not even close. But if tutorials is what you want to be doing for a living, or for now, I thought feedback from an average user might be useful. It is, after all, very neat that you spent your time to share your knowledge with others.
