Wind is blowing the wrong way. It's coming form the north-east toward the ocean aka Santa Ana Winds. We get this every winter. Now if this was summer, the winds come on shore from the ocean. But because of the location of the fires the smoke would be blowing north-east and most likely would pass well north of Big Bear.

Whoa…! Brought in a beluga! Jackie sings for her lunch, and Shadows relents. He really is an attentive, generous, helpful mate. Looks like she saved a few scraps for him. Her crop full enough? Ooooof… those winds are still fierce. Makes me shudder to think what would happen if a wildfire broke out there!

I was reading this today...🤔 " Eagles will often sit for hours scanning the water for prey to either swim near the surface or float by." Poor Shadow only managed a bite or two of his hard-fought meal, but I hope her appetite and spending time resting in the nest means the loss of his fish will be repaid with lovely eggs to carry on his lineage.

Tug of feesh and tug of sticks, both classics for these two but you gotta love them. Yes, I've been horrified by what is happening in those fires; everyone involved definitely needs our prayers. I am glad that the wind is keeping the smoke out of the nest area.
