Calif. Zephyr in Ft. Morgan on 19JUNE2024

Please pardon the wind noise and camera shake due to 23 mph winds from the east. With all of that, the California Zephyr #5 made its station stop in Fort Morgan at 0602 MDT (17 Min. late). P42s #50 and #25 powered the 8-car consist to a stop with car 7 to the station ramp for passenger service to 1 departing passenger and then 4 new fares. With the station work completed, Matt gave the high ball and on a clear signal the brakes were released, and the amps ramped up to the traction motors moving the Zephyr west toward its next stop at Denver's Union Station.
My thanks to the operating crew for the waves from the cab and the quick chat with Matt.

It will be back on the streets tomorrow. I have said before that I am a "fair weather" triker. LOL! I've been up on two wheels with it and that was not a fun day. Yep. Good morning Mike from 77 sunny mid Tenn. Lots of scooter activity there this AM. That Colorado wind( actually Nebraska) is something else. Iowa & Okla are always windy but you are in the club windy I do believe. Have yourself a good coffee day & keep that trike under control. It would seem a worthwhile item to steal if unattached.

Northeast Colorado is stuck between them all. LOL!! The scooters were interesting this morning. I did like the way she folded it up for storage on board. I'm lazy. I prefer to sit. LOL! Didn't use the trike today because of the wind. I was up on two wheels due to wind last fall while on the trike. Learned my lesson. Tomorrow it will be back on the streets. Our winds have laid down a bit. The temperature has reached 60 F. and slowly climbing toward 65 F. I have seen items about that fire as well as others down that direction. Saddening. Yeah I saw on train 6 video the win. I heard that wind and it sounds pretty brutal out there. I also see that Yellowstone Park is about freezing. I saw the weather out at Yellowstone for last night or this morning and it got down to like 20°. So it must be some kind of a stationary cold front out over the mountains. Anyway they're having their Juneuary so you know that's how that goes. Anyway I'll be sitting on a trailways bus operated by Burlington tomorrow going from Chicago to Omaha. Got to go to a family deal out there in Nebraska. I wanted to take the zephyr but tomorrow's train was sold out except for maybe a sleeper.

Good afternoon, Carolyn; Thanks for dialing in as well as the comments. I can only recall of 1 Cardinal sighting here. We used to have wrens that set up housekeeping in a birdhouse outside the windows. Haven't seen them let alone hear one for several years. We do have plenty of starlings, robins, sparrows, yellowbellies miller catchers, and turkey buzzards. Yep. Today is the latest federal holiday: "Juneteenth". For me, it is another holiday with all the meals being banquets. I am gonna have to take a vacation from all of this retirement stuff. LOL! Have a great evening down there.
