Changing knifes in claas 990

Just curious why overtorque the bolts isnt that stretching the threads and paint mark each one once torqued?

We’ve always went a little over. We mark to show that we’ve torqued

This is the standard color of Busatis, the main supplier to most copper manufacturers. It´s an Austrian company. The have really grat stuff!

Have you tried Danell Brothers Cutter bar? They are in Hanford California. They make tons of wear parts for Class Years ago when I worked on Claas’s we tried Claas parts and Koma shear bar, the Danell bar was superior. It’s been a few years so maybe Koma has changed?

Far as I know they don’t make shear bars any more. They are just north of us. Hell of a chopping company! Koomia new shear bars are the best!

I worked for danells years ago, for about 7 years back when the 900 was a prototype. I then worked for a chopping doing hay only for almost 12 years . Back then we ran Danell parts with good luck I’m in Hanford, we also have nettos chopping. I’ve been out of chopping for a hand full of years I see now danells and nettos have a few Deere’s, haven’t heard much about them other then Deere parts are expensive

suppose to torque outside bolts first then insides I seen that no no lol 😆

😂😂 well we’ve never had a problem. We also torque them to 245lbs 😅

@@califarmer30 I have done it both ways too and havent had issues. I'll have to up it to 245 instead of the 225 that is says. I'm usually at 230 by time I go around 2x.

Just curious... how long does it take you to mount a full set of knives? (Not counting the time to remove the old ones.) I'm running a New Holland FP240 pull-type with the full-width curved knives with 4 bolts per knife, and it took us several hours to re-mount a half-set of 6 knives when we switched back to chopping with a full set of 12. Tightening the bolts draws those knives slightly back from the shearbar, which meant we had to do a tremendous amount of tapping knives around to get everything right. I'm less than a quarter way through the original knives, and we've already flipped the shearbar. The Dion rotary head I'm running concentrates the crop path in one spot, causing very uneven wear to the knives, shearbar, scraper on the smooth roll, and even the kernel processor teeth. I'm thinking of going to a used self-propelled, which would also allow us to direct cut barley,wheat, and/or triticale which the Dion can't do. Sorry for the long comment. Keep up the work.

Ah bon ? En quoi est ce qu'elle est mal entretenue ? Pas trop propre si c'est cela c'est vraiment le dernier des soucis sur une ensileuse, faut voir la merde que ça avalé surtout à l'herbe, le mec sait ce qu'il fait ça se voit pas comme les jeunes trouducs qui sont juste bon à conduire et ça la conduite ce n'est rien tout le monde peut le faire...

@@jmgagri5961 conduire une claas à partir des 800 c'est de la rigolade, vraiment ce n'est rien comparé à un ancien model style sf80 avec becs à chaînes, la conduite c'est vraiment rien comparé à un entretien, beaucoup de pseudo pilote ne savent même pas régler un contre couteau et je ne parle pas du réglage de fond de rotor....
