I don’t care about any of the politics of the judging ect. How about we all just think back to what it was like before we had a professionally produced, organized, and well executed surfing competition to watch on tv. Im so grateful to have these talented women to watch with my 10yr old daughter, and am grateful to watch these awesome men to get me pumped about surfing, give me something to watch other than all the junk everywhere!! I don’t care about results, if it is rigged, if they pull straws to see who wins, doesn’t matter! Watching amazing surfing, with commentary is amazing!! Negativity not only makes you feel bad emotionally, but it also hurts you physically, stay positive stay alive and healthy!! ❤

some pretty dodgy judging during this comp...no way was Caitlin Simmers' last wave a 6.6! Plus Morgan Ciblic's final wave against Matty McGillivray was so unscored, as was Ethan's first wave against Cole's (way overscored) 9!

I had to turn off the sound on finals day. The commentators can't restrain themselves from glorifying men during the women's heats. They rave endlessly about Griffin Colapinto and the wealthy cadre from San Clemente. Why do we have to hear all of that? Why do the women's events always have to get interrupted by commentary on men's events? And why do we have to hear always about surfers with privileged backgrounds? How about meaningful commentary on Sakura-Johnson and Hennessey? What kind of waves Marks grew up on to become such a champion? And then there's Rio Waida, who hasn't had the lavish treatment of the other guys, but is perhaps the more remarkable story.

crazy how many people are hating wsl. sure there were some slight questionable judge moments but nothing that wouldve changed the outcome of the event. griff and cole earned it and if u cant see that then your the problem.

A lot of the hate comes from the new Finals format at Lowers where true world champs lose a title in small onshore chop, and the horrible commentary during the contest, and the mid-season cut.

@@KB_Surf i get the mid season cut, but i disagree about the new format at lowers. it is almost perfect wave with a beautiful right and left wall. as you could see last year, it was onshore but with no bumps on the face which showed the best surfing that had happened all year which nobody can deny. so i would say that you cant judge lowers unless you have really surfed it. coming from someone who has. i also dont hate the commentating at all. so i do wonder what you dislike about it?

wow , crazy fix for the american final... nothing against Grif or Cole, but such a shame for Medina and Ewing. I just hope to see different results and more heats of the best surfers with international (unbiased) judges at the Olympics

Does Kelly Slater get paid for keeping the WSL afloat for the past decade and not even winning any contests? With him not doing very well anymore will this tour survive. this is not worth watching anymore. Why not start a new league with Nathan Florence in charge of everything. He would invite the surfers he wants to go to a location he picks once a month. Prize money would come from all the sponsors. The whole thing would be run on Nathan Florence’s KZbin channel.
