I met Jennie Kwan recently at a local convention. She was a total sweetheart. Funny thing is I didn’t know she was in California Dreams until afterwards. I loved watching this show growing up. Luckily, I was able to thank Jennie for her work in this show the next day at the con. Thank you for posting this. This song reminds me of a simpler time and now hits differently having met Jennie.

you can still hear her in the background ensemble vocals and when "sam" sings "these dreams are good" its not even sam, its just heidi. it also just sounds like they dubbed her directly over her in over "dont wake me up if im dreaming". then also cutting the reprise...well, her solo was just meh. nothin booming or worth reprising. jennie kwan's voice is fine, heidi lenhart (as well as brent gore) really had it though. it was a shame they didnt give her lead for the reunion.

Judging by other comments, you're not alone in your opinion. I never cared for Heidi's singing voice. Part of it may be her trying to stress things to much, such as in the line "don't wanna stop." In the 'wanna' part you can hear the stress in her voice from trying to accent the note too much.
