Yeah but that was on the east coast. I swam in the pacific ocean almost every day. And now I'm in Oregon and swim in the pacific ocean during the summer. Because the temperature up here is alot colder. We have a VW Westfalia camper van that is our home away from home ❤ We can just throw some food in the van and take off. Love our van.

Extremely beautiful view and I love the fog. Miss the fog mornings when I was a kid in the UK. 🌪💙 Deserts are okay but my cup of tea I think is the mountings are better then the sea. Enjoy the sound of the waves in the hotel bed is the best 😇

Years ago, I got a good peek at a school of dolphins, on the NC coast, at sunrise!!! So cool!!! I to, don't care about swimming, in the ocean or pool, but nearly drowning...gets me. I swim under water fairly well, on top, like a rock 😂 until next time 🦿🇺🇸 gracious lady...

This I can tell was a much needed time to spend with lilone on that nice long walk on the beach!! I loved the story time segments when you tell them. They bring so much personal touches along the way!! I like you much more prefer the mountains, of Montana, Wyoming, Alaska and the Canadian Rockies!! But the ocean moist air I always enjoy breathing each time I go back home to visit!! Seeing lilone roaming around on the sand and getting her feel wet was funny as well!! I totally get you! I’ve lived by the beach for 30 years now and can count on one hand how many times I’ve been to the beach, let alone go in the water! “JAWS” ruined me forever! I love the smell of the refreshing ocean mist when at the beach🤙 Wow that story was scary. My friend stopped me from going over to touch it, by yelling at me that it was a jellyfish!! Glad she warned me in time!! Jellyfish freak me out!!!! I dont swim in the ocean either. Glad you made it through that! Wow. Rufus and I love the mountains and trees the best. But yes, the ocean is nice to see. Rufus saw the ocean for his first time last year. He loved all the smells , but like Lil one, he's not too fond of the water. They know there's stuff in there bigger than them. 😳

Thank you for taking us to the beach and for sharing your story. Girl, it's a miracle you survived! A Portuguese Man of War can kill a big man let alone a little girl!!! I use to swim in the Atlantic Ocean when I was a kid. Use to have seaweed slither against my legs and it would always frighten me. And we did see jellyfish but never had that kind of an encounter. But when I was 11 I had just learned how to body surf and was way out past everyone so I could catch a wave and ride it in for a long time. And suddenly the lifeguard started yelling over the bullhorn that there were sharks coming in. I was all alone and started swimming for my life. By the time I got to shore it was obvious it was dolphins, but my mind was in survival mode and when I got to the beach I broke into tears and passed out. That was my last time in the ocean. That was before any of the Jaws movies or Shark Week on TV. As a kid I started reading about sharks and attacks and by the time those movies came out there was No Way I would have ever been in the ocean again. Funny thing, Bull sharks and occasionally Great Whites can live in fresh water and especially Bull sharks have been found up the Mississippi river. So I'm with you girl, I love the beach but not what's in the water. To many things that can hurt or kill you! Of course I live in an area where we have both black and grizzly bear and mountain lions and have had both in my yard and was chased by a black bear around and around my car once. But for some reason that doesn't cause the level of fear like the critters in the water do. Go figure! 😂 Anyway, I'm glad you survived your attack!!! Very frightening!!!❤

Hey sarah, nice you got to spend the day at the beach, so relaxing i used to spend every weekend in the ocean in the atlantic, lake woth beach by west palm ,i was metal detecting the whole time had a hell of a good time still have a pile of recovered jewlery and coins would love to do it again my high dollar metal detectOr stays pretty lonley in nm!! I would love to go see the pacific ocean. I have been there once before but too small to actually remember it. I bet you seen a lot of beautiful sunsets being there. Little one is like my fur babies. Sounds like you were caught in the rip tide. We call em Portuguese Man O' War. I learned it (they) is/are a colony. ...that is they gather and take responsibility for different functions in the colony ... for instance, some blow up with air to keep them all afloat and others stay below and collect food etc. some defend with sting. The sting is bad, as you know. It is an interesting way organisms can live. Glad you made it out alive !

God I miss my ocean. Working my way there again soon!😊 I grew up on the beaches of OC. CA. Scotchmans cove, Newport and Balboa Bay, Laguna.❤ I swam at Newport beach many a summer. Fortunately, I never had a bad encounter. I used to go belly boarding and I'd swim out behind the waves. It's magical out there. It's peaceful and very quiet. But I loved riding into the breakers. I absolutely love everything about the ocean!

I was on Savannah Beach or Tybee Island in 1979 as Hurricane David was moving in toward land. Seen some pretty big waves then. The ocean would swell and then go back down. Sight to see. I'm not a fan of the ocean but that was cool to see! Thanks for sharing the video and have a good week ahead!

if I was there with you I'd be taking my little kayak out and surfing the waves in - I learned that in Ecuador and I actually got pretty good but I also don't like deep water I never go too far out ... when I was about 5 or 6 years old I watched my dad's best friend drown when he fell out of his speedboat - but where you're at it looks pretty nice

I also prefer the deserts and mountains myself but since I'm from Colorado and experienced being landlocked for a couple decades I enjoy the novelty of being near the ocean. It definitely has its own allure when one contemplates just how vast it is and all the creatures that live in it. I remember seeing in grade school a picture of a man of war and thought it was the most scary thing I ever saw and I'm not a good swimmer so I'm not one to go out into the ocean myself, seems fairly terrifying to me with riptides and all the things that are swimming around down below your feet that would like me on their menu. I get it though 4 people who were born near it and the ocean is in their blood and surfing seems like a pretty cool thing to learn but like I said I'm not a good swimmer...

Your man of war story got me! I was the same age maybe 13 snorkeling at a remote beach in Kauai with my mom. A Portuguese man of war wrapped around my neck. It was the most awful sting that lasted all day and left welts like tracks around my neck. So scary but yours was even worse since it drug you out yikes!!😮💗
