In NC, I can do anything to the motor, intake or exhaust. The law only says you have to have a muffler and cats. None of that ref crap you have to put up with. I had to deal with CHP when I drove out there. I had lights on my mirrors that were legal. We had amder in the front and red on the backside. They was put on to help keep my mirrors from getting knocked off at a dark loading dock at one of the cold storage. Because he didn't like them, he told me I had to take them off. I asked several times what was illegal about them, and he would never tell me. The told me to get them off or I would be placed Out of Service. I could never live in that state. I can't understand how people keep voting in all the people that keep passing those anti-american laws.

Before you sell the hoses with that other Catch can make sure the hoses you left on the car are the same standard. The EO says: All Hoses are SAE30R9 or stock equivalent. The Ref will be looking for the SAE30R9 designation on the hoses. Usually printed on the Hose. Compare the old ones to the ones from COBB and make sure they say the same thing.

Id say invest in property in Texas, Id say El Paso or Dallas/Fort Worth. It could be a real cheap beat up house, register all your cars in Texas and bring it back in California, if you ever get pulled over you can just say you’re visiting, you don’t have to tell them how long. Only down side is that registration is once a year and you have to get your car inspected so you’d have to bring you car to texas once a year UNLESS you have a buddy or someone you’re close with that inspects cars and “cough cough” could inspect it with you being in California still which would save you a trip to Texas.

In the 90s and early 2000s I had this same problem with CVPD. I would get pulled over weekly. They would give me the same tickets over and over. It was harassment. I eventually stopped using my car. The only way to avoid all of this was to eventually move away. After moving out if CV I never get pulled over by police.

It’s a lot worse in the southern parts of CA than everywhere else. Especially if you have an obviously modded car. The louder and flashier it is the more the cops will be checking for you because they have nothing better to do 💀 it sucks but most of the time it’s better to just comply than to be getting constantly slapped with $400+ tickets. The only thing that doesn’t need a carb number is if you change the top mount for an after market top mount, per the highway patrol and state reff, it’s considered an after market replacement not a modification.

Happened to me. I bought my Evo 9 while stationed in Washington and moved back home to Cali. Went through inspection and they laughed at me. Long story short, I went from 450hp back to stock. I even had to remove my JDM rear bumper and install the ugly Usd. I sold it while it was stock and took my 18k to the bank. F it

Well a window banner is a dumb thing to put on in my opinion especially in CA. It’s pretty much the same thing as having tint on the windshield. You put a big target on you. That wing ain’t doing any favors for u too😂

If you sell those parts you can pick up that nexgen stage 2 kit. Carb legal- intake, Inlet, injectors, rails, lines, pressure regulator, fuel pump, catback that’s around 92-94 db. It’s pricey but legit, add a Cobb Bpv and new top mount with a good tune it will net you 330whp on 91.

@@chris_borges yeah it has something to do with catalytic system efficiency I just wanted info since I’m installing a grimmspeed catted downpipe on my 2021 sti and getting e tuned don’t want the cell code to pop up I seen that 19+ STI are having trouble with that code in particular
