Concealed carriers are the safest individuals around. In california we go thru multiple background checks, to buy a gun, thumb printed, background check+ 10 day wait, any time we buy ammo, background check. To apply for a ccw, every fingerprinted and background checked again. In san diego you have to wait 90 days from your ccw appointment, which is usually a year wait before that 90 days. After the 90 days is up we are required by law to pay for, and take an 8 hour training course, after that course we must pass a shooting test (1 handed 3x 9ft, off hand hand 1 hand 2x 9ft, +2 hands 5x at 15 ft, and 2 hands 5x at 21 feet all inside a 6 inch box to pass. Not only do we face several background checks, a year + wait peroid but also need to demonstrate at a local range we are proficient enough to hit a target 2 inches smaller then a human head, 15 for 15 times at various ranges. Absolutely absurd they think they need to further restrict and ban people, when they have already turned what is a right guaranteed by the 2nd ammendment of the constitution into a right that is denied, until you pay around $400 and wait a year and 4 months.
