Be it on a bike or in a car... travelling soothes my soul. I don't know what it is or why. But, it just does. There is so much to see in this beautiful country of ours. When you're out on the road, there are no politics, no problems, life is just good... rain or shine.

What a fabulous drive! I loved the views going up but going down really made me happiest. The views spectacular, the road snaking along below where we were, and I felt the curves in my belly up AND down. One of the curviest roads I've ever seen. Loved loved loved this! Thank you. This is the best form of meditation for me.

Fascinating mountains and beautiful driving. I think that the road, although frightening, is well secured with a protective fence. Thanks for the wonderful video.👏👏

This road is often closed more than it's open. Nice to see the views, sad to see all the damage from wildfires and bark beetles. I rode my bicycle up there from Mt. Wilson to Charlton Flat before the Bobcat fire. The lizard looked like it was well fed. Thanks for sharing.

The Angeles Crest Highway has sort of a twin in the San Gorgonio Mountains, called the Rim-Of-The-World Highway, combined California State Routes 18 & 38, commencing in North Central San Bernardino and ending somewher East of Redlands. There is also a side-drive called City Creek Road, California State Route 330, which comes out of Running Springs. May I please suggest that at some point, you tape this for us? It passes by Southern California's answer to Lake Tahoe, Big Bear Lake and goes over the Desert Subalpine pass of Onyx Summit. Others may have taped it, but I don't believe that they've given it the due diligence, QUALITY, attention, and CARE, as you would.

We will certainly keep that in mind on our next visit to southern California! ♥️
@swithinbarclay47972 жыл бұрын
@@AdventureEveryDay I should have added that the 38 continues from the near-headwaters of the Santa Ana River, thence through Angelus Oaks, and ends up in Redlands. I must caution you that I haven't personally been on these routes, though I sorely, badly want to traverse them someday.

So many dead trees....I wonder if its due to the drought? Its been a few years since I drove this road. I dont remember this many dead trees.
@AdventureEveryDay2 жыл бұрын
There are some invasive species causing havoc with trees, likely what’s happening there.
@htschmerdtz44652 жыл бұрын
many of the trees are fire victims, others are smog victims, or weakened by pollution and succumbing to disease.
@ST1300Jim2 жыл бұрын
Most of the tree damage was due to fires a few years ago. It's very sad.
@edwardrenefette7119 Жыл бұрын
A large number of the trees, as stated, were destroyed by wildfires in the last 20 years or so. Yes, some have succumbed to drought, disease and pollution but the biggest culprit has been wildfires. It’s very heartbreaking to see. I used to hike in the Strawberry Peak area 30 years ago. There was hardly ever anyone there. I went by there about 10 years ago and the trail was closed because it had all been destroyed by fire. 😢. I see in the video that it appears to be open again. (14:59 mark) Before the fires it had many more trees. Now it looks so barren. 😢 Almost 25% of the Angeles National Forest burned in the year 2020 alone. 😢
