Good result! For future reference, I'll point out that the combination of the late Shad spawn and shallow water, means there'll likely be a huge Shad die-off during Jan and Feb. where the entire lake will smell really bad. The good news, once they sink to the bottom, the cycle of these new conditions will likely precipitate a huge crawdad hatch in the spring.. their color changing from brownish/green in spring, to red in the fall. Understanding the natural cycles on Clear, will consistently put you on the quality fish throughout the different seasons. Oct. 2002 my team partner and I won a fully rigged 19' BassCat, in the Anglers Choice, western regional finals. The typical winning pattern prevailed, flipping clump grass in 5-7 feet of water w/hard slopping bottom. Green pumpkin/red flake 10" power worms and brush hogs... it's a pattern that works anywhere on the eastern shoreline, from Lucerne, down to Glenhaven...

To answer the question when asked in the video, with the bag you had I would have explored a bit to find a backup spot for the next day just in case of. You weren’t going to improve the bag much more and it was a good number for day one. F’n Damian though, top of the board day one.

Exciting video, but sorry you didn't make it although you never quit fighting! Of course it was a nail biter and TV screaming event LOL! It seems that most bass tournaments are tough these days. They're gorging on bait instead of our lures🙁 Best of luck on your next adventure and keep your fun videos coming 😊

Great video and a great job of keeping the head game strong. Even though it didn't go the way you planned, it was still a successful outing!!! With winter coming up, I would like to see some offshore content. Guide us through your steps on breaking down the deep bite. You spend lots of time near shore. Get out there and find those big girls. NO DROP SHOTTING ALLOWED. You have mastered that. Do something that's not in your wheelhouse. You will thank me later!!! I think a 4-part series of "Offshore Schooling with Greg Blanchard" seems appropiate....lol! DO YOU ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE????

I like that idea for sure! I bet even this fall we'll get off shore and spend much more time looking at the graph. can't say ill leave the the spinning rod behind but ill try to get them to react more so. It's way more fun anwyways

I know you really wanted that top 5 but you still did great considering how tough it was...Hopefully the fishing is better in New York! It's been a strange year for fishing...I had a great winter, I caught the most 5lb+ fish I have ever caught but as soon as it warmed up the fishing completely shutdown! It's been weird but it is what it is...

Losing those two on 2nd day cost you..even if they were 15" each another 30" wouldn't have put you very close to 5th place.. My theory on a 2 day tournament when prefishing is tough stay in the area your catching them on day 1 and get as big of a bag as possible, they may not be there tomorrow..as you figured out..now if practice went good and day one the same OK maybe get a limit then go search for tomorrow..
