Loved the video! Very informative. I found this video while researching what CA native tree to plan in a area right along side my driveway. I was thinking Western Sycamore, Mountain Mahogony or Wester Redbuds but I'm reading those like a little more water. I'm looking for something with really low watering requirements. Maybe a smaller oak....? I too am a huge fan of multi-trunk trees. I generally prefer them!

Most trees when newly planted will take more water. Give it a couple years and you shouldn’t need to water any of them at all. But I’m having luck with my newly planted western redbud next to my driveway. I live in the Sacramento Valley and it gets blazing hot here and it’s doing just fine with little water. I planted it from a 15 gallon pot in April and I watered it maybe once every 2-3 weeks this summer. Next summer I’ll probably water it once a month or so.
