Don't beat yourself up too much. In UK Scottish parkruns are 9:30 but English are 9:00. Every week someone turns up at the wrong time in Scotland because they dont check. The time the parkrun can start depends on the climate sunrise and whether Scots like the pub. eg Riverside parkrun in Idaho is 8:00am (May - September) & 9:00am (October - April). Eastern trail (Maine) is 9:00. Baxter parkrun is 7:00 in Australia. I guess there is some sort of assessment of the risk of heat stroke etc. Give parkrun another shot!

Red tape for a Park Run?!?! Only in California..
@simmorg2907 ай бұрын
I think everywhere you probably have to go through some red tape to set one up. You can't just show up at a park and do it every week. In the UK you have to get permission from the local authorities who probably make you jump through some hoops. Maybe if it's only a small parkrun with 30 people or whatever you wouldn't have to worry about permissions etc. but most of the ones over here have hundreds of people some of them more than a thousand.

Edit 2: 4:42 is pretty good, 15 seconds off of last time is a huge jump, you can break 4:40 next mile race. Also you'll be able to break 16 in the 5k next time as well. Sorry you missed out on the 5k run, but thank you for what you do, it really keeps me motivated to keep going even when I'm not in the best shape.
