Back in the day that railing wasn't fixed, it was one of those foldable railings like they have on Everest. They also had a wave machine under the rocks so you would get splashed before/during the launch.

Does the ride have a chance of rollback or does it stop you if you don’t get up the hill

If it doesn't have enough momentum from the launch, usually it's guaranteed to stop and be held on the incline, as with the hill that high, that would be very dangerous to roll back freely.

@@waltandme No, it would roll back normally and the brakes would catch it as seen in the video above. That wouldn’t change even at high speed, which on this ride is only about 50mph. The train behind it will hold until the train before it clears the loop, I’ve noticed. Even before this, it was rare for two trains to catch up to one another - usually while one train was being launched, the train behind it was still being loaded with passengers and would be a good minute or so behind it. Anyway.

@@squares4u What I think you're referring to is when a ride operator dispatches a train a bit too early, and another one is already waiting at the launch, so they stack up. This actually happens more often than you'd imagine- it's all about paying attention and timing. As for the incline, in this video, the train didn't simply just launch and freely roll backward down the incline, it already was locked into a stationary position, and was released backward onto the LIMS, which would then catch it. I can confirm this, because it didn't roll backwards very quickly, and I have witnessed several E-stops on the incline before, where cast members have to manually release the train. The sole purpose of the brakes on this incline are to ever so slightly trim the speed, so it doesn't fly over the apex of the hill too fast, however, they are Fail-Safe brakes, so in an emergency they are there to bring the train to a stop on the incline and lock in place if necessary. And if that's the case, the LIMS will start to slow the train down on the launch before it even approaches the hill. -Walt 'n' Me :)
