The size is not as stunning as the fact that this fire had nothing to do with PG&E for once.
@sarahrose41263 ай бұрын
Exactly. They've already downed at least 134 homes. This time the well paid attorneys can't go after PG and E. People are losing everything this time around , but now they can't look forward to a hefty payout from PG and E. This is going to get interesting.

It's at 307,000 acres now and is now the record for CA. The precious record was 200k which took over 2 weeks time. This is only day 3

I think the left (west) and right (east) flanks of the fire are contained. The west flank being the one near Chico and right flank being the one near Paradise. I’d say about 50 percent of the fire is contained except for the top (north) head of the fire and NE east corner of the fire. Been monitoring it since it began and haven’t noticed growth west side (Chico) or east side (paradise) so this means they have those two sides under control. 😊 Good job to all first responders!!

Don't kid yourself, they have absolutely zero containment as it absolutely rages and there at the mercy of extremely mercy of unfavorable weather. It's jumped up to over 300k acres now, grown over 100k in the last 24 hours

That's crazy how the house burned down but the trees around it are still green and alive. I would think everything would be charred.

There's a podcast called "Built to Burn" By 99 Percent Invisible that breaks down modern home architecture and how basically modern homes are not built with fires in mind AT ALL. (Even in fire-prone areas). Plus trees in areas like that have evolved to be pretty tough with fires.

All our fires this year has been criminals
@andrewburke58153 ай бұрын
its not really the states fault. its the fact that so many people have built homes in these areas and now the state cannot do the prescribed burns necessary to prevent fires this size. Most of the houses are like the one in this video dont do the necessary vegetation removal to keep their home safer from these fires. there should be no trees or large brush within 100 feet. Look at all the trees around that house.
