A lot of reasons. Sometimes they're guilt trip into not trusting them. Sometimes they don't want that awkwardness of refusing or turning down someone's offer. They don't want that "friend" or con artist feel bad. It's a cultural issue where if you refuse an offer/help, it puts you in an awkward position. For example, like refusing food from a Filipino household can be interpreted as saying the food is bad and that's why you refuse to eat it. In actuality, you refuse it to be humble and not to take what's theirs.

What I found odd from the beginning was that she only recruited Filipinos and mostly all women. Well the job wasn’t selling the life insurance but signing up more new members to sell life insurance. They’ve ended up getting hit with multiple lawsuits for running as a pyramid scheme. All the top leadership including the CEO named in the lawsuits. But when you asked, you were told it was fake news, yet had the complete court records. What’s interesting is that most all the staff compromised of nurses. Unfortunately you were never classified as an employee, you had to purchase all the materials out of pocket. I was always pursued to join, but there were a lot of red flags but the biggest one was how fast she got promoted from entry level to the top leadership level. Within a year, but it all had to do with how many new members where recruited not by selling the life insurance product. In the lawsuit, complaints where also if you questioned the business practices they pulled your licenses.
