California Zephyr Chicago to Emeryville Day One

I took this to Davis with my 6 year old daughter over Christmas 2 years ago and loved it. Even my daughter stayed entertained the whole 2 days with the scenery!

It’s a great train ride. I alternate between this train and the Empire Builder to the west coast every yr. Even in the time of the pandemic, Amtrak’s protocols are far better than the airline’s. I would advise people to take the train where you can observe social distancing, and regular rigors of cleanliness.

If your going from Emeryville to Chicago what is the best side to get your roomette on for the view during the day.

I was on the left side going the opposite direction and I thought that was the best side, so you want the right side. The Colorado will be on the right side the majority of the time and that is almost half a day of the trip.

I see you have a pic of the old Omaha Burlington Station as you were about to pass under the tenth street viaduct at the Omaha stop. This is a neat video to me because I have watched, chased, boarded, filmed and photographed the Zephyr passing through, or stopping at, Omaha, NE since I was literally 2 years old.
