My name is Ryan Valk and I am a California farmer. Most important to me though, I am a husband, and a father. Many people that I have met in my life have told me that when they thought of California, they thought of a crowded city or a beach covered in surfers. What you may not know is that California is the leading state in agricultural production! We have an extremely rich history of farming here in the "Golden State". Wow, electro-static spraying is new to me. I have a TurboMist sprayer with electronic controls but no electro-static.

I've been farming and ranching my whole life and I don't believe I've ever seen a tractor like you are using. Is it a specially designed orchard work? What size tractor is it?

I love that sprayers but I run a new Holland tractor it’s so easy to adjust it and you save more material not like the yellow sprayers

🙌🏼!!!! On the Electro static type sprayer. So underrated. People always saying gotta use powerblast to get good coverage. Total BS in my opinion. We’ve always had electro static. I have a windmill sprayer. Love it. It’s an older one but works great. What is your ground speed? And what gallon rate per acre?

We have used an electro static type for 6 years and haven't had any issues!

We are going about 4.5 mph at a rate of about 50 gpa

Ok. I go about 4MPH. But we go 20gal an ac. That rate works for us. My Grandpa sold windmill for 20 yrs at the old Stanislaus Implement in downtown Modesto. We swore by this rate. Ppl frown when we talk about that rate. We are like look at our reject levels. 👍🏼. Except 2017, lol.

Whay kind of chemicals are you spraying?

The tank is actually 97% water. We use Intrepid, and Optek to combat navel orangeworm and spidermites. You can find more information on these insecticides/miticides if you go to epa.gov and search for "Pest Control and Pesticide Safety for Consumers". You can search within the site for those specific products to see the info and regulations concerning them.
