How will my purple sweet potatoes do in a plastic grow bag? Last year only got finger size..which I have saved and rooted for this year. Also Calif. Have been noticing anything root takes a year to develop out here between Hemet and Temecula but higher 4,000 ft.

Use Sluggo Plus pellets for Slugs, Pill Bugs and Earwigs. Very effective!

Any advice on what to grow in the high desert? I moved here months ago, and I am not having a big harvest like I did in the IE.

I'm in the high desert you have to either break your soil or I've used raised garden beds which has been the best. You can pretty much grow anything up here. Some things are better in early spring and fall like green beans and carrots and cabbages. But right now peppers, tomatoes, squash pole beans and Bush Beans are doing really well
