As a blue blooded Big Blue Nation fan I love coach Cal. Cal gave us UK fans some of the best teams that will go down in history and I hope he gives you Razorbacks the same. It’s amazing what a win-win this is for Kentucky and Arkansas. Enjoy the hype Arkansas, but be ready for the Cal criticism. He brings the best in, but will infuriate you with his in game coaching abilities and stubbornness to play his starters. I think he will make it past the first weekend for you all because he no longer has the pressure of winning like he had at UK. I wish you all the best and am so grateful Kentucky has a guy that seems way more into Xs/Os. We love Cal but are tired of being out coached and never having an inbounds play.

Personally, I want a documentary on UK fans running Cal off in order to get back the program he basically stole from them and turned into an NBA prep factory with little to no concern about decades-old college basketball traditions or postseason success, as long as the draft turned out okay. It would be a good vehicle to seriously examine the basic purpose of college basketball and exactly who programs "belong" to.

Growing up in Oklahoma football is king and our basketball teams can be pretty good some yrs but when i was a kid i always kept up with Arkansas basketball because im from Tulsa and of course Nolan Richardson coached TU before he moved to the Razorbacks so i kept up them loved Scotty Thurman as a kid his game was sick and Corliss Williamson was the guy though he was going to be a decent pro but after Richardson Razorbacks fell off for yrs till they got that last coach who brought them back to the elite 8 finally but hearing Coach Cal decided to go to Arkansas is good news for the Razorbacks definitely see them becoming a national power again

In the last 5 years, Eric Musselman is 8-3 in the ncaa tournament. 2 elite 8s and 1 sweet 16. John Calipari is 1-3. 2 Round of 64 exists to double digit seeds and a round of 32 loss. Cal said the exact same things at his introductory press conference at Arkansas that he did at UK 15 years ago. It sounded almost scripted. He’s recently been quoted by recruited players as saying “Cal University is the same, it just changed locations”. Maybe it’s just me but as an AD or a fan, it would piss me off if my new basketball coach was ALREADY acting as if he’s bigger than the university and the players are coming for him not the school. I wish the Hogs luck except when they play UK, but… same staff, same players, same recruitment process, same coaching style is probably going to equal the same results in March.

I think it is quite ironic that many Ark fans talk about what a primo job being the head BB coach is and how they are a top tier program. But it wasn't until NIL opening up men's basketball to become a professional sport. If you need an alumnus and big money to back bringing in a head coach, then you are not a top tier university bb team. I'd like to see Cal succeed, but succeeding at Ark means 20 plus wins a season, where succeeding at KY means elite 8, final 4 and national championships. But the fun part is that we all get to sit back and see if his player's first system will continue to work, now that he has 7 to 10 million dollars committed by the Univ and alums for NIL. Whatever happened to the good old days when the only time a player got busted was when a FEDEX package containing $100,000 in cash was 'accidentally' opened up as it was being sent by a University booster (KY I believe) to a recruit.

That’s a complicated, old school story. It was $1000 and it was a coach, not a booster. That being said- Dwayne Casey successfully sued to clear his name. Who knows what happened, Eddie was in the bottle so it’s certainly possible corners were being cut. I just have a hard time believing that kind of risk was taken over $1000.

The title of this is extremely misleading, though the video is good. Cal is the greatest recruiter in cbb history. Unfortunately he is not a great X/O’s coach. Take this season, Cal had two top 10 shooters going top 10 in the nba draft & still lost to Oakland. The talent on KY’s team was incredible this year. Love of the game is not toxicity = it’s PASSION. I am glad he gone so get ready for a first or second round exit in the NCAA tournament every year for the next five years have one and done every year. It’s no new players every single year and barely get production out of your five star recruits every year you’ll have the number one recruiting class and can’t do anything with them, so yeah you guys got it. @@Michael-jw6et i not pretending like I’m glad he’s gone I’m really glad he’s gone like there’s no panic nothing the dude literally could not do anything from 2019 to 2024 you give him a lifetime contract and see what he does the one and done it’s not gonna work. I’m glad we got Mark Pope. I can’t wait to see what he does for Kentucky’s basketball program might take a few years. I’m giving them a chance, but I’m so glad to that cal.out of there and then we never have to see him. until we play them this year so like I said, enjoy thanks for taking a while for hands but I’m not like disappointed or worried him being gone when I’m gone since 2019 and a little bit before that I like football coach better than I liked him for the past several years so don’t make a narrative out of nothing you don’t know about not every Kentucky fan worships the guy you’ll see what I’m talking about in November. He might do better than what I expect because he’s with a new team but I know coach. Cal. And if he gets his players that he wants, he’s gonna play an all freshman and you’ll probably be in the first round of the NCAA tournament, and maybe get to the second round if you don’t lose to A no name school like Saint peters or Oakland so enjoy going to the NCAA tournament and only getting past the first or second round
