In the state of Colorado, both the Ryker and Spyder are licensed as motorcycles, along with insurance is motorcycles. A rider has to have a motorcycle license or 3 wheel endorsement on their drivers license to legally operate those trikes the state of Colorado. My wife and I took the MSF course to obtain the three wheel endorsement for the Colorado DMV. We both have Spyders to ride. Rykers and Spyders are fun to ride.

California Vehicle code - Motorcycles- A motorcycle is a motor vehicle with a seat or saddle for the rider designed to travel on not more than three wheels.

Do these institutions apply to the spyder as well?, my apologies if this is a dumb question

Your not even geared up. Nobody wearing gloves.... I have 70k km on a 2019 Ryker Rally. Here all Rykers/Spyders need a motorcycle licence. Car licence only if you have had the license longer than 2013. The Spyder has a motorcycle classification in Europe.

In some states, like SC, they are in a "grey" area, so you only need a regular car license. Also, as in CT, there isn't a helmet law in SC, but I have had a motorcycle license for almost 42 yrs, have had a car license for almost 43 yrs. and a cdl for for almost 30 yrs. I've had my Ryker 900 Sport for over 3 months and I'm loving it.

Your right , here in Australia there classed as motorcycles , and the mentality riding them is more like a motorcycle than a car..

Thats unusual, because really there nothing like cars , one rear wheel ,no roof , handle bars , you have to wear a helmet , and possibly gloves , one seat unless rear one is fitted ,,the list could go on .....lol

Tell me you don't know what in THE hell you are talking about WITHOUT telling us you don't know what in THE hell you're talking about😅😅 Hey rockstar in the U.S. we have this goverment organization called the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminsistration ( NHSTA) which is a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation ( DOT) and guess what they classify open air vehicles with less than 3 wheels as? Also most states have this thing referred to many place as the Division Of Motor Vehicles ( DMV) and guess what most ( if not all) of them classify Spyders/Rykers as? not only this but guess what type of endorsement (if any) you will likely at a need at a minimum to legally ride JUST only 3 wheelers? Yep a 3 wheel "MOTORCYCLE" endorsement. Please delete your post along with that " passenger car" foolishness there is waaay to much additional nonsense in it. Please research all that I have said and please in the future do your homework before speaking on things you are unfamiliar with to people who may have been riding Spyder/Rykers since the day they were first sold to the public.
